32 y/o Canelo vs 32 y/o GGG @ 160/168 - how this fight would go ?

Post by apollo creed »

Lets face it G was past of his prime(35y/o) even when he fought Canelo 1st time. So to have a fair competition, how a 32 y/o GGG vs 32 y/o Canelo fight would pan out?

It would go just like their 2018 rematch.

At that time G was 36 y/o, so he was past of his prime. I doubt that a 36 y/o G would be sharper and fresher than 32 y/o G.

G would be very strong.

GGG wins a wide UD or stops him late.

IMO that GGG stops this version of Canelo late on cuts/shut eye. I think it would have been tough for this version of Canelo to last 12 round getting pounded by a closer to prime GGG

He was not past his prime. I am big fan of GGG, but there is NOTHING from his fights in 2012 - 2016 that suggest he could do different things in the ring against Alvarez.

Btw, Canelo haters are funny AF.
Before first fight: Canelo is ducker, he would not fight GGG because he knows he will not survive 3 rounds. Reality: He fought 12 rounds with literally no danger of being stopped or even hurt.
Before second fight: Canelo fought first fight backpedaling, because he would get destroyed in exchanges with GGG. Reality: He fought 12 rounds different way, forcing GGG to fighting backwards and win the fight.

As i said, i am big GGG fan, but Canelo hate on boxrec is just ridiculous

Canelo didn't want to fight the 34 year old GGG.

The 32 year old GGG would dismantle him far far worse than Bivol did.

Canelo has a good record, but it's little more than that.

What he desperately needs now is to beat both Bivol and Benavidez.

Or go down as a drug taking, cherry picking, weight bully fraud that usually had NSAC and Wada in one pocket and the Sin City judges in the other.

Styles make fights - Bivol's blend of size and speed can't be matched by a prime GGG.

I think GGG clearly wins, like he did in their first fight, but probably doesn't get the stoppage and possibly doesn't get the decision - as per their first fight.

Indeed, the jab and the power punches of a 32 y/o G would do some damages on this version of Canelo.

Obviously G at 32 was fresher and sharper than the old version of him.

Facts.

I don't know but I have the feeling that Canelo would want to rematch Bivol at 168 or at a cw with rehydration clause to weaken Bivol. This version of Canelo that could not beat up or stop a 40 y/o version of GGG at 168 lbs, ain't gonna do schit to a 175 lbs Bivol.

Bena needs a good win on his resume like Andrade or Charlo to appeal Canelo.

Yeah probably it would be like in their first fight but with a 32 y/o G being more sharper and fresher with the jab and the footwork.

What is difference between 32 years old Golovkin and 36 years old Golovkin? Ive had watched all his fights since 2010. Just tell me, because obviously i dont know sht about boxing :D What exactly 32 years old Golovkin had, that would beat, hurt and stop Canelo, because he not did that in 24 rounds in their 1st and 2nd fight. What exactly can 32 y old GGG do different in 2018 rematch than 36 y old GGG.
