Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
Press Release
rish sensation Connor “The Kid” Coyle will meet fellow unbeaten middleweight Felix Cash in a ten round contest for the WBA Intercontinental title Saturday, October 8 at the sold-out O2 Arena in London.
Coyle-Cash will be broadcast live DAZN and on DAZN PPV in the UK and Ireland. This exciting matchup serves as the co-feature to the grudge match between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn.
The reigning NABA middleweight champion, Coyle’s 17-0 with 7 victories by knockout. Ranked 9th in the world by the WBA, Coyle resides in Derry, Northern Ireland but trains out of Pinellas Park, FL. On September 17, the 32-year-old dominated veteran Silverio Ortiz over eight rounds. Prior to that, he scored a spirited ten round decision against Antonio Todd to capture the NABA title.
Hailing from Berkshire, United Kingdom, Cash is 15-0 with 10 KO’s. On February 12, Cash won the WBC International middleweight title by defeating previously unbeaten Magomed Madiev via ten round decision. The 29-year-old also owns impressive victories against then-undefeated Denzel Bentley via third round stoppage and Jack Cullen, who Cash halted in the 8th. The highly regarded Cash is ranked 4th by the WBO, 10th by the IBF, 12th by the WBA.
“I’m excited about this fight because the winner could be fighting for a world title in the near future,” said Coyle. “Its going to be a great night of boxing and there’s going to be a huge crowd at the O2 Arena plus all the fans watching around the world on DAZN. This fight is also close to home (Northern Ireland) for me so my fans and friends will have the opportunity to see me in the most important fight of my career.”
Coyle’s promoter, Jody Caliguire of Fire Fist Boxing Promotions, sees the Cash fight as a perfect opportunity for Connor to become recognized as a top middleweight.
“This fight is going to steal the show,” said Caliguire. “This is a huge platform for both Connor and Felix. Both fighters have undefeated records and are highly ranked but are looking for that signature victory to get their name into the world title picture. Connor’s worked incredibly hard and made many sacrifices for his boxing career. I’m confident that everybody will know who he is after October 8.”
Dubbed as “Born Rivals,” the card is promoted by Matchroom Boxing and Wasserman Boxing.

Eubank is way bigger. I remember listening to him talk about how he dropped from SMW to MW and it wasn't easy at all, and took time.
But what really grinds my gears is: Benn called him out, not the other way around, so why is everything on Benn's terms, and in his favour?
Seems to me, you call a man out, you don't dictate everything in your owb favour.
If Benn wants to fight at 160, he should fight at 160.
He isn't a big star who can dictate such things yet.
I'm surprised Jr took the bait to be honest.
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
Eubank is acting very confident and acting like Benn is absolutely no threat, it's obvious that this is mind games but if Eubank is buying into it too much and doesn't train well enough then this weight cut could become very significant. If he's preparing correctly and knows he can make the weight easier than we all think then it's easy money.Syntax Error wrote: ↑26 Sep 2022, 06:20Agreed.KiwiRider wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 17:13It's the size difference between the two of them that concerns me.

I wouldn't be surprised if Eubank can easily make the catchweight and all this talk of it being a struggle is rubbish.

So is it on or off? Is it just fake news to Hype the fight or what?

He’ll come in at 159 or 160 and happily pay the fine

Eubank has said he has trained himself for this fight.
Said his dad has been kept at a distance.

Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
Here’s what the two had to say in their “Good Morning Britain” appearance to promote the bout:
Benn on how he’s feeling: “This is the long part. I just want to get in there and do the business. The hard work and preparation are done, it’s now just a matter of getting in there and fighting. Get all the media work done, and I’m just excited to get in there.”
Benn on training: “I’m strong and powerful. It’s been an amazing challenge to come up two weight divisions. I just want to get in there now and prove meself.”
Eubank on how he’s feeling: “60 percent, you know. I’m calm, I’m happy, I’m on weight, and I’m ready to go. ... I have this weight that I have to make, which I’ve never made before in my entire career. There’s also a rehydration clause after (the weigh-in), I can’t be over a certain weight. I can’t be 100 percent for this fight, but the 60 percent that I will be is going to be a very dangerous and worrying 60 percent for Conor.”
Eubank on coming down in weight: “I wouldn’t say (I’ve made big changes). I’m doing everything on my own accord. I’ve had my burgers and my birthday cakes, and I’ve done everything my own way. I’m a professional, but I also know what my body can do and what it can’t do. I don’t need nutritionists and gym guys who think they know what they’re doing. I know my own body.”
Benn on coming up in weight: “We can all play the card, ‘Oh, I’m coming up a stone and all that,’ at the end of the day, I can beat the man. I’ll be 100 percent because I’m a dedicated professional athlete, not ramming burgers down my throat, or portraying that image, anyway. I’m here working, grafting, and I’ll be 100 percent on the night.”
Benn on the legacy perspective of the fight: “(Our fathers’) last fight went to a draw, but we all know how that fight really went and who should have won. It’s only right I get the victory.”
Eubank on the pressure of the fight: “There’s a huge amount of pressure on me for this fight, absolutely. This is the first time I’ve ever said this throughout my entire career: If I lose this fight, I retire. And I love fighting, I love the sport, I love being a boxer. I don’t want it to end. ... Losing to a Conor Benn at this stage of my career means I’m not the fighter I thought I was or think I am. I want to challenge for world titles within the next six to 12 months. I can’t do that with a loss to Conor Benn. My father retired at 32, I’m 33 years old, so this is an extremely important fight, and there’s a lot of pressure on me to not only win, but also uphold the name and family legacy that we have created. Right now, the Eubank name is in front of the Benn name in the history books, and I’m gonna keep it that way.”
Benn on Eubank’s legacy comments: “You’re funny, you are. The fight wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t ‘Eubank-Benn’ or you weren’t walking second, but the reality is nobody cares. My ego ain’t that big about my name being first in the history books or whoever ring walks second. I couldn’t care less, to be honest with you, mate. Everyone knows (our fathers’ fights) as ‘Benn-Eubank.’ When this fight was announced, you know whose name was trending? It wasn’t ‘Eubank,’ mate. (Eubank: “That hurts my heart.”) I bet it hurts your heart, because you’ve got a massive ego.”
Benn on wanting to win for his father: “I’m gonna go in there and get the win regardless, but my dad’s proud of me with or without this fight. I could still be doing my old job painting, my dad would still be proud of me and the man I’ve become. (Eubank Jr) is an opponent in my way that I’ve got to get my hands on and beat.”
Eubank on his father training him: “Actually, I’ve trained myself for this fight. My father has kept his distance. ... He was actually — he wanted me to wait, actually, he didn’t want to take this fight. He wanted me to wait another year, but there’s no time like the present.”
Eubank’s prediction: “I’m going to enjoy myself. I’m going to have fun, I’m going to entertaining. I’m going to teach this young man and a lesson. Will it go 12 rounds? I don’t think so. He thinks he’s gonna knock me out, he thinks he’s gonna be the first man to stop me. It’s going to be an explosive and dangerous fight for both of us, but a victory will be secured.”
Benn’s prediction: “Yeah, I’m coming for the stoppage. No doubt about it. If I see my shot, I’m gonna take it. And you know what, when I shoot, I don’t miss.”
Eubank on whether or not his father will be there: “We are, uh, we are working on that. How could he not be?”
Benn on how he’s feeling: “This is the long part. I just want to get in there and do the business. The hard work and preparation are done, it’s now just a matter of getting in there and fighting. Get all the media work done, and I’m just excited to get in there.”

Lyndon Arthur hasn't got an opponent yet.. So it's a week out.
He's probably gonna fight a bin man! Wasn't expecting a big fight for him anway.

Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
I think Benn will KO Eubank.
Jr has always suffered from Amir Khan Syndrome, a very dangerous affliction where a boxer thinks they're better than they actually are. I doubt he believes in his heart of hearts that Conor is a threat to him, and mentally won't be steeled for the sort of effort he'll need to dredge up to beat this feral young savage. Contrast that with Benn knowing he's up against a big, durable guy and will be training for the fight of his life, and the fact that these pairings with fighters on opposing trajectories traditionally favour the man in ascendence, and I see the little guy scoring Simply the Best highlight reel KO we've seen in a long time. Never forget a good little 'un beats an average big 'un!

I’m not sold on his yet.
