Considering he missed out on having DDD-JJJ as a PPV.. he wasn’t gonna let this pass.

Also, PPV was probably the only way to make the fight..
I get that PPV was probably the only way to make it work and pay them what they want but if it was only bought by 150,000 people, and it clearly didn’t generate much press, then it’s not going to help make be as big of a star fighter as he probably deserves.

They made the 100% right call with the Dubois fight not having it as PPV, Joe had good momentum after that but it wasn’t really capitalised on.
Are you sure that is the world total and not just the BT one?
You can't get BT outside of the UK so Sky Box Office carried it in their territories and didn't FITE have it on their platform for America and the rest of the world?
It’s a pure guess re: how many buys they might have had in the U.K. I genuinely don’t remember a PPV in the U.K. in recent years with less buzz/publicity about it beforehand which is such a shame given how good the fight was.

I hear you, but it's not that simplistic as it's not accounting for the right opponent's ability to stifle that output through footwork, setting traps, or simply having enough power to hurt Joyce.
Look at the way Pacman's punch stats went off a cliff against Floyd when they fought.
In that particular case it may have been down to PacMan being 5 yrs past his best with an injured shoulder as much as anything Floyd was doing
We could debate that, but the general principle still stands. Uskyk's footwork and countering is such that it's highly unlikely Joyce would be able to maintain a similar level of output, for example.

Nobody currently competes in the heavyweight division with Floyd Mayweather Jr's elusiveness.

And one could easily argue, based on punch stats and various eyeball tests, that no one throws anywhere near as many punches as Joyce.

I believe Joyce beats everyone, excluding Fury and Usyk, competing today.

And I wouldn't be shocked to see Joyce upsetting Usyk or Fury, because he would be very competitive against those guys.

For sure, they'd both outbox him during the first five rounds or so, but as soon as they start to slow down due to fatigue, then that's when Joyce will become far more challenging to overcome.

A fighter like Usyk, for instance, usually loses at least three rounds on the judges' scorecards during his bouts, because he takes those rounds off to regroup and catch his breath immediately before staging a late rally.

But Joe Joyce's relentless, though relatively primitive, onslaught will force Usyk to keep fighting for every second of every minute of all twelve rounds.

I believe Oleksandr will somehow find a way to beat Joyce, but it definitely won't be easy. There'll be at least a few rounds, probably late in the contest, where Usyk will look like he's struggling.

I agree Joe’s output may be lower vs Usyk than it was vs Parker but it would still be significantly higher than AJ’s was against Usyk and he posed him some problems.
