Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | Showtime PPV - July 29, 2023
Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | PBC PPV - November 2022
This fight is too important not to happen. It's a historic fight in terms of two prime, supremely skilled guys for the 1st undisputed championship in the 4 belt era.
If they don't fight,? Boots is waiting. They'll fight.

Boots wants to fight Stanionis for the mandatory spot.
Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | PBC PPV - November 2022
Hope he does! Wasn't it Stanionis that dropped Crawford? If not him, hopefully Thurman.

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | PBC PPV - November 2022
Activity is pathetic in boxing these days and welter seems to be a bad division for it. 2 fights a year is fine if they are 12 round wars and you got the belts... but young emerging tallents are just not getting enough rounds in pre world title when they are free to do what they want. and the old dogs are just fornicating about.
-Boots top emerging welterweight, mabey already the best in the world... fought twice but less than 3 rounds toatal in the last 15 months.
-craws has fought 1 time (10 rounds) in the last 22 months.
-Spence has fought 1 time (10 rounds) in the last 19 months.
-ortiz jr fought 1 time, (9 rounds) in the last 13 months.
-Thurman has fought 1 time ( 12 rounds) in the last 38 months....
-Rashidi has fought 1 time (1 round) in the last 22 month. (and didnt make weight).
-avasanya has fought 2 times (3 rounds) in the last 18 months.
-Connor benn has fought 2 times (6 rounds) in the last 12 months. [to his credit has a big fight booked soon although not at welter}
-Eimantas Stanionis has had 1 fight in the last 12 months (12 rounds) {good test to be fair}
-Ugas has had one fight in the last 12 months and got hurt. {so has a fair excuse}
-porter is retired, Manny is retired, Floyd is retired..
These are the biggest names at welterweight.... and this is whats going on. In the premier small man division.... How can the division still function. Bonus concern for 147... Non of the people listed above have a fight booked at welterweight to the best of my knowledge... so we need spence craw.

The division has the biggest talent pool I can remember in over 30 years and has done for a while, yet the current mob's activity has fallen off a cliff.
It's as if they want to age themselves out of big fights.
So very frustrating.

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | PBC PPV - November 2022
Sadam Ali explains why he marginally favors Terence Crawford to beat Errol Spence in undisputed unification.
“Spence is a great fighter,” Ali said. “Spence is amazing, but so is Crawford. It’s really hard to choose but I could choose. Me, personally, I’m gonna lean towards Crawford a little bit. If I’m going 55-45, I’m giving the 55 to Terence Crawford. They both have the power, they both have the heart, I just feel like Terence is a little more slicker. And I feel like that’s the only edge he may have.”
Then when asked if he could see Crawford scoring a stoppage over Spence to claim all the belts, Ali didn’t want to go out on that limb.
“Now that’s taking it too far. In boxing anything’s possible but I can’t sit here and say Spence is going to get stopped by anybody, honestly. But I mean if there’s that one lucky punch that just lands unexpectedly, that the fighter doesn’t see, either one of them can get knocked out. Anybody in this world can, if that one perfect (punch) lands), but nah. In my opinion I don’t see Spence getting stopped, I don’t see Crawford getting stopped. I see a great fight.”
Ali was then asked to give Spence some advice as someone who’s shared the ring with Crawford in the past.
“When I beat Crawford (in the amateurs), I’m gonna be real with you, it was a competitive fight throughout the whole time but he might’ve got tired — I don’t know. Maybe Terence wasn’t going as hard as he should’ve in the amateurs, but I mean he was almost winning everything. But still, I feel like I wanted it more in that last round. I was down one point going into the last round and I ended up winning by like four to five points.
“I can’t really give anybody advice because Terence Crawford is a whole different kind of fighter right now...what Terence has done now is a lot different. I can’t say he has the same style in the amateurs so I can’t really give advice to beat him. All I can say is to beat Crawford you got to be at your best.”

Proof that 'terms agreed' don't mean shit!
There still so much to sort.
Crawford isn't locked in with a promoter or a network. This should not be rocket science.

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | PBC PPV - November 2022
Errol Spence Jr.-Terence Crawford title fight at risk over dispute on contract details, sources say
The Errol Spence Jr.-Terence Crawford undisputed welterweight championship fight is in jeopardy because of a lingering dispute regarding the contract, sources told ESPN.
If the pay-per-view fight set for Las Vegas is finalized, it won't take place on the targeted date of Nov. 19 but rather in December or even January, sources said.
Spence and Crawford had agreed to terms, with Crawford set to earn the short end of the financial split, ESPN reported earlier this month. The issue: Crawford wants transparency related to event expenses since the contract contains no guaranteed purse, sources said.
Since Crawford (38-0, 29 KOs) will earn a percentage of the net revenue, he wants the ability to approve expenses, sources said. Crawford is a promotional free agent after parting ways with Top Rank, but sources said the proposed deal includes a bilateral rematch clause.
If the rematch clause is triggered, the winner will earn the majority of the revenue for the return bout, sources said. But if talks for the first bout continue to drag out, it's conceivable that Crawford, 35, will want another fight before facing Spence.
The 147-pound meeting for all four belts is one of the biggest fights in boxing. Crawford, ESPN's No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer and top welterweight, last fought in November, a 10th-round TKO victory over Shawn Porter to retain his WBO title.
Spence, a 32-year-old from Desoto, Texas, who is aligned with Al Haymon's PBC, returned from surgery to repair a detached retina to score a 10th-round TKO of Yordenis Ugas in April to add the WBA belt to go along with his WBC and WBA titles. Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) was set to fight Manny Pacquiao in August 2021 but withdrew from the matchup because of the eye injury.
It was the second major setback of Spence's career after an October 2019 car crash led to him being hospitalized. He did not fight again until December 2020.

Re: Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford | PBC PPV - November 2022
I remember Ward-Kovalev 2..
Ward had a $6.5m guarantee
As for Kovalev:
The Russian’s promoter, Main Events CEO Kathy Duva, told a group of reporters that Kovalev will earn 75 percent of Main Event’s 40 percent cut of the promotion’s net revenue (pay-per-view sales, the gate, merchandise, etc.). That figures to be around $1 million-$1.5 million if the fight generates similar numbers to their first fight.
On the other hand, Ward will make a whopping sum and Roc Nation Sports stands to lose money on the promotion.
“Ward has a sugar daddy who pays him $7 million (actually $6.5 million) for this fight, OK,” Kovalev’s manager, Egis Klimas, said Thursday. “Sergey is earning every single penny. He is promoting this fight as much as he can. Every single penny comes from the fans – from the ticket sales, from the pay-per-view, Sergey is earning. Nobody’s giving it to him.”
Did around 120k buys and wasn’t the best gate.
I remember it worked for a lot of Roy Jones opponents in the late 90’s / early 00’s.
I remember the opposite happened with Hagler-Leonard. Hagler was on a percentage and Leonard had a hefty guarantee. But I believe Hagler ended up earning more..

These over paid prima-donnas don't win my loyalty. Both great, talented and exciting fighters.
Both time wasters.
I'm not paying for it. I'll watch it later. Waited two years too late ng, what's a couple more days. They can shove the PPV.

Based on what I’ve read yesterday, this fight isn’t happening in November nor December due to both parties still negotiating terms, coupled with the lack of available TV dates that don’t clash with other major events.

This match is outdated. I guess Spence is trying to buy more time to fight a 36-37 y/o TC. Canelo's style with GGG.
“(Erickson) Lubin will KO TC,” said Charlo on his social media account. “Move up to 154 we’ll see.” , “Who has he knocked out? Who has he fought?”
lol, they are scared of TC. TC is 35 and Spence is 32, so the time is on Spence's side. Lets make this fight when TC is 37 y.o.

Leonard was 25 when he fought Hearns first time, Tommy was 23, Crawford is now 35 and Spence 32, older than Leonard and Hearns rematch

Pretty sure Leonard was retired at Spence’s age and he’d done it all.
