I think he really should have stuck at featherweight. I felt that the weight making excuse for the loss of Martinez was just that....an excuse. It didnt seem like he wasnt strong until that punch.

Agree, I thought he was doing pretty well.
It more a "tighten up you defense" than anything else.
I can't find a photo now of the weigh in, but I watched a clip at the time and he didn't look hollowed out either.

Kid hits the scales at 40:30 and looks fine...
