I agree. Can't see the fight ever happening. It would be good to see Tyson in with someone with a pulse to gage how good he is. But, sadly, I fear he will dine out on the Wilder trilogy and let people imagine he would beat the rest of the pack without beating the rest of the pack.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑03 Oct 2022, 14:13 My guess is they never fight, or if they do, it's when they are both well and truly past their sell by date.

Hardly anyone cares about boxing anymore.big lennox wrote: ↑03 Oct 2022, 16:54Boxing's inability to set up the best fights is such a shame. You wonder if, over the long term, it will become much more of a minority sport as a result. Particularly if UFC keeps growing.

I can only speak for where I live but I don't see the rise in UFC at all. It's gone down in popularity if anything.big lennox wrote: ↑03 Oct 2022, 16:54Boxing's inability to set up the best fights is such a shame. I’ve watched a bit, the stamp fight mostly. Had a right busy weekend and week and now I’m prepping for coming home for few weeks.

If you only look at where you live then you’ll not really get a big picture of things, Mick. I know you’ve said the amateur game thrives where you are, that’s not how it is most places.
If you think this whole sham set up we’ve just been speaking of (fury coming out of multiple retirements to challenge one deserving opponent and two undeserving while avoiding Usyk) is a great sport, in comparison to the UFC where the right fights get made almost instantly, then fair enough
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - OFF
I’m a Tyson fan (it’s nearly was btw) but if this fight never happens I’m putting it on him.
I still think they should’ve tried harder to pay off Deontay.

What this episode has achieved is Fury losing more respect & credibility - and loyal fans losing theirs too.
The Whyte fight was generally expected to be a real test for Fury, but Whyte proved now to be as fragile as Povetkin had shown us recently so it didn't elevate or even confirm Fury to be what the Wilder wins initially suggested.
Therefore he needs still to prove himself if his legacy is to be more highly regarded than that of David Hayes to the general public.
Nothing less than dominant win over Usyk is needed, after all he is only a middleweight.
To KO Joshua.
And now Slo-Joe is very much on the radar too
His legacy needs 3 of these guys - not a Charr or Chisora tomato can to knock over

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - OFF
If Queensbury really want to make this fight, then put the date back two weeks and reopen talks.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - OFF
Alls they had too do is like you said put it back two weeks give them time to sort the politics out ,, but we all know it was never gonna happen , think it was Chisora all along even Charr was a smoke screen , wants some respect Grab Jocye i'm sure he''l take it

I'm not sure many people saw Whyte as a threat - I certainly didn't - he's just a big lump who does nothing particularly well=.tonyevs wrote: ↑04 Oct 2022, 04:04 What this episode has achieved is Fury losing more respect & credibility - and loyal fans losing theirs too.

I don't think Fury gives one shite about legacy, it seems money is all he cares about, despite his protestations to the contrary.
I imagine that his career will fizzle out from here, he's not really got that long left anyway at his age, and he doesn't really seem bothered about making good fights.
If he wanted to, he could have set a date with Usyk for next year, he didn't even entertain the notion.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - OFF
Fury was retired ffs. He wanted half a billion to fight Usyk. Then he wanted to fight Usyk while he was injured. Now he needs to fight in December and anyone who wants to read or change the contract is ducking him.
He can’t wait till Usyks fit to fight? He just so so needs to fight Charr/Chisora in December. Give me a break.
It’s a joke. He’s a joke.
