£28 for this load of cobblers
Let's be honest it's two average boxers living off their fathers names, cashing in because neither can make it big on the world scene.

Why do so many fans think you have to make it on the world scene these days.
It does my head in, what’s wrong with being happy at British level?

They are both better than average, that's rather downplaying things.
I am definitely not buying it though.

Nothing wrong with it at all. But should a British level fight really cost nearly 30 quid PPV?powderPuff wrote: ↑04 Oct 2022, 06:09 Why do so many fans think you have to make it on the world scene these days.

Virgin are now advertising this, indeed £27.98 for the show and a QR code to redeem for your months DAZN during the show. Not for me, making you pay the 8 quid on top must be one of the most stupid ever business decisions in boxing ever. I'd have paid 20 quid but no way am I going more than that, wonder if that decision changes before Saturday ?

No - they won’t be changing it pre fight.tony1234 wrote: ↑04 Oct 2022, 11:01 Virgin are now advertising this, indeed £27.98 for the show and a QR code to redeem for your months DAZN during the show. I’m really looking forward to the main event now. Not so much the undercard or the price but I’m properly excited for Benn/Eubank. The only other fight I’ve been equally as pumped for this year has been Khan/Brook.

A couple of people are reporting that Eubank Snr was admitted into Langford Mental Heath Hospital on Monday. He’s meant to be out now which is promising. Nothing confirmed re: why he was admitted.

No serious boxing fan should be buying this PPV.
It's about time feelings were made clear about the way we're being ripped off to make Dazn and the broadcasters even richer. It's not like there isn't a cost of living crisis where the ordinary working man is being bled dry as it is.
Enough is enough. Domestic level non-title fight on PPV. fornicate that.

Firestick all the way
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
Aye, beneath the plastic rivalry this is a really, really shite fight. What’s it going to prove? Who can negotiate a contract to debilitate the other better? Who really is the 5th, 6th, 7th, etc best fighter in their very shallow weight class? Who’ll talk more shite they don’t really mean?
I wouldn’t buy this if it cost a £1. Everything that is wrong with boxing encapsulate in one fight

Quite worrying how that information has got into the public domain.
Also, this is really sad for Chris.

Yep. It’s pretty disgusting that it’s made it’s way public so quick with pictures of the actual paperwork. Hopefully they find out who’s responsible and they never work in the health sector again (assuming that’s where it’s come from).
Very sad for Chris.

Hearn Thinks Eubank Jr-Benn Can Do A “Million” Pay-Per-View Buys
Promoter Eddie Hearn expects one of the most intriguing British boxing fights in recent memory to yield concomitantly high pay-per-view tallies.
“I think it can do one million buys,” Hearn told iFL TV. (Hearn did not specify if he meant only buys in the UK).
Hearn believes the recent distribution partnership between Virgin Media and DAZN will help boost pay-per-view sales.
“I mean, you’ve seen the deal announced with DAZN and Virgin,” Hearn continued. “It’s also available to Virgin customers, which increases the reach drastically. I think it can do a million buys. I really do.”
Citing the metrics for the pre-fight publicity, Hearn believes Eubank Jr.-Benn will produce some genuinely strong numbers at the box office.
“I think it’s absolutely huge … across DAZN and Virgin, which is the pay-per-view,” Hearn said. “It’s not like, ‘Now, he’s including other numbers.’ How big is this fight? It’s massive. Even on Matchroom’s YouTube channel…Well over a million for the “face to face” (interview) numbers. The BBC documentary on Wednesday —This fight is huge.”

Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
I think it depends on the definition of flop.
This fight has already given DAZN far more publicity than it’s had before in the U.K. and I actually think it’s being promoted well so far. Good morning Britain last week, the One show last night, a documentary on BBC1 tonight, a lot of presence on the BBC sport website (most viewed sport’s page in the U.K.), a fair bit of national press and the head-to-head stuff on YouTube has done seemingly well too.
Eddie’s off his head thinking it’ll do a million buys but it’s getting more attention than any other fight this year in the U.K. at the moment. If it does 300-400k buys then I’d assume that plus the sold out O2 income would cover the costs and leave DAZN in a much better place going forward.
