The board saying it’s OFF
Said it was called off last night
Also said they only told the promoter and boxers this morning.
Hmmm.
So the show can only really go on if they use non-BBBC officials. Can’t see them doing that as it’ll impact all of the undercard fights and possibly cause issues down the line for the promoters.
Surely that means the show has to be cancelled?
For the first time ever I think I actually feel a bit sorry for Eddie.
I would have also - had it not been clear that both Eddie / Kalle were trying their best to keep the fight on in a contest where there is a roided drugs cheat fighting someone who will probably be dehydrated to make the weight.
Eddie / Kalle need to be held to ransom for trying to defend allowing the fight to go ahead.

If he'd pulled the fight as soon as he knew about the failed test I'd feel sorrt for him. Not now. It would appear they are going to either try and bully the Board into allowing the fight or going ahead with it regardless. Neither of which is in the least bit good for anybody in boxing other than those involved this weekend. Short-sighted and greedy.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, it sounds like matchroom knew the board was taking this line before their own statement, so looks like they’re going to try and push it through. Similar to Haye/Chisora I guess
Haye/Chisora was never appoved by BBBofC in the first place was it?

To be fair though I think the difference was that Haye vs Chisora was ALWAYS a Luxemburg commission fight.... that almost added to the appeal of the lay fans (a rivalary so deep the BBBoC won't sanction it). I don't think the BBBoC refused to sanction the fight hours before the event happening.
This was always going to be a BBBoC fight until Benn broke the rules this week.
Eddie said that it’s Eubank vs Benn or the show is off.
Saying that Benn hasn’t been suspended so not sure how the BBBC can do anything and it’s with the lawyers to decide what happens.
The more I think of it the more I think that they should pivot to Eubank vs Cash. No PPV. I’d imagine a good chunk of the crowd will still go and it will still do fairly good subs on DAZN.
If Benn does fight and gets beat (there’s no way he’ll be mentally ready to fight now even if he has been on the juice for the fight) then he’s pretty much done as a headline attraction.
Word is the test was failed in August but they have all tried to sweep it under the carpet and not test the B Sample, etc. Hearn has a silver tongue. Talking just before there might just be one or two idiots who don't see this for what it is.
Somebody just needs to ask Hearn if he's concerned about the fact those traces are in Conor Benn's system. And also ask if Conor Benn has asked for a B Sample.
A source has told ESPN's Mike Coppinger that Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn is attempting to obtain an injunction to allow the fight to proceed as planned.
Earlier on Wednesday, Matchroom said the fight at the O2 Arena in London would still go ahead since Benn has yet to be banned by authorities.
Benn's fight vs. Eubank -- an extension of their fathers' 1990s rivalry -- had been touted as one of the biggest boxing events in the United Kingdom this year, for a reported £3.5 million purse.

Without PEDs Benn doesn’t have very much chance of bridging the gap in any rescheduled event.
He wasn't signed up to VADA when he blasted Chris Algieiri et al away. Maybe he can just got back to that sort of level and cheat to his heart's content, WADA obviously aren't sharp enough to catch him. He's no threat without drugs I don't think, not got the skill set.

Everything else is fluff.
Yep. I wonder who’ll be the first to ask him that. It’s certainly not going to be Matchroom’s presentation team.
They should also ask what’s the point in paying for VADA when you just want to ignore the results.
