Re: Connor Benn fails drug test!
I reckon Eddie will pull the plug himself tbh, the backlash on social media is catastrophic, he'd never recover if this happens, even now his reputation is in tatters,

Might be a BIBA fight with IJL reffing!
I do have sympathy for fast car, put a lot of time and money into the event and it might well go to pot.
Nevertheless a cheat is a cheat, while lots may be at it too, at some point you need to take a stand unless you are going to legalise it.
Gotta feel for Jnr too, trained hard, emotionally and physically, cut weight, and now might not get paid.
The BBBoC can't touch this, imagine their liability, let alone their reputation if someone gets hurt.

Even when you can quickly search a clip of him saying something, he will say the opposite later on. Credibility, reputation, or even just being a man of his word don't come into it.handsofstone wrote: ↑05 Oct 2022, 17:25 I reckon Eddie will pull the plug himself tbh, the backlash on social media is catastrophic, he'd never recover if this happens, even now his reputation is in tatters,
Whatever narrative is best for Eddie, the the one he will promote, no matter if he is in direct provable contradiction with himself.
Think the morals of a second hand car salesman
Re: Connor Benn fails drug test!
And if the show gets cancelled, none of the undercard boys get paid, they would have all made weight too
Re: Connor Benn fails drug test!
Gareth gets a lot of stick on here, but hes spot on imo.

That gym’s the most obvious gym in the country for juicing in my opinion.
I remember 5 or 6 years back people used to joke about how bad Sims & his fighters were doing. The consensus was he just got decent fighters because of the Hearn relationship.
Now all his fighters show huge jumps in performance levels & all seem to have suspicious spells out of the ring.
Ryder moves up in weight & starts knocking people out, clearly beats Smith but gets robbed, pushing him back most of the fight. He rarely fights.
Cash suddenly seemed to develop a huge punch until a recent poor performance, also rarely fights.
Cordina looks a decent boxer but limited power, next thing a huge one punch KO to become world champ. Another one who’s never consistently fighting.
You go through Benin’s timeline & he ticks every box for a potential doper -
Transformation in power.
Transformation in physique.
Time out of the ring before the transformation in physique.
Failed to enrol on the WBC’s clean boxer programme.
Has gym mates who’ve had big jumps in performance levels who fight inconsistently.
He even has a dad who fought who plenty claim took banned substances.
And make no mistake Hearn will know if they are doing. They train out of the matchroom gym. His wife’s related to Sims. He knows what goes off there. He must do.
As for ‘they’re all at it’ and so on. That’s bollocks. Plenty at the top level are but the majority of fighters couldn’t even if they wanted to. Many can’t afford to, they can’t even box full time never mind spend their purses on juice.

As a sport, even just in terms of British licences, I'd like to see proven cheats banned for life.
They put other fighters health at risk and of course it's damn unfair on clean fighters.
Also it casts doubt on other fighters in the gym, Ricky Burns has gone on forever, and obviously AJs physique has completely changed.

I think I’ve passed comment on here before when boxers have extended periods out and they are supposedly having shoulder surgery.
They then rock up for their next fight with no scarring anywhere around their shoulders and look a million dollars.
Purely coincidental obviously.

Re: Connor Benn fails drug test!
But then it could be a very serious weight mismatch. What happens if Benn is then seriously hurt due to that? Some people would rightly cop a lot of flack if that happened.gregregegg wrote: ↑05 Oct 2022, 18:17 BIBAs time to shine. Eubank should come in at 175 and tell em to stick the fine up there arse.
As has been said, the timing is very suspicious. I do wonder if they made an agreement with Eubank a few weeks ago to keep it quiet but that he could come in heavier or they removed the rehydration clause...hence why he was out having steak the other week and his dad was so opposed.

Really pisses me off that, as far as I'm concerned if they are in training they are working and should be paid, a lot of these lads and lasses aren't getting paid that much to begin with.

DAZN need content. Should just run the undercard as a free show. That’s what should happen at this point.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022, 02:41Really pisses me off that, as far as I'm concerned if they are in training they are working and should be paid, a lot of these lads and lasses aren't getting paid that much to begin with.

Good idea, however I'm guessing the arena would be empty, people won't go, they will just want their money back.gregregegg wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022, 03:07DAZN need content. Yeah - the only way they could keep the show going is by having Eubank Jr fight someone else. I think Cash would be perfect but they (Eddie/Kalle) didn’t seem keen on that option.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022, 03:29Good idea, however I'm guessing the arena would be empty, people won't go, they will just want their money back.gregregegg wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022, 03:07DAZN need content. Remember Joshua being out for 6 months with a stress fracture in his back and returning having put on pounds of lean muscle.jameswilson wrote: ↑05 Oct 2022, 19:19 I think I’ve passed comment on here before when boxers have extended periods out and they are supposedly having shoulder surgery.

Having done weights for years, I wish I knew his secret.

Sims will be panicking once Cash now gets ‘randomly’ tested.maverick23 wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022, 03:33Yeah - the only way they could keep the show going is by having Eubank Jr fight someone else. Give 2 options . 100% refund, no ticket... or 80% refund keep your ticket.
then resell the tickets that get refunded at 80% off....
The gate wont be great... but they dont have to pay the 2 big purses on the card. and if matchroom have to take a slight loss when things go horribly wrong then they should.
