I didn’t realise that Kugan was Hattons ring walk bouncer for the Pac fight long before the podcasts etc, is that how he started out, basically a bouncer who worked with fighters?

It is disgraceful that people involved were poking charlie at Eubank Sr when a), he is grieving the loss of a son and, b), they knew that Benn had failed a drug test. I've always like Hearn, who is very clear, articulate and has a good sense of humour, but he has not done well hear. Ditto Sauerland.
Sauerland probably has little morals in terms of the situation as he’s undoubtedly dosed to the gills with TRT and probably more for his bodybuilding.
Kalle did not look comfortable at that press conference with Eddie.

IFL aren’t anywhere near real reporters and shouldn’t be treated as such. They just offer a platform for people in boxing to get their views out to a wide audience. If they tried any sort of challenge, they’d lose access immediately.

It’s not the sort of content I’m particularly interested in watching, but they do serve a purpose.

Anyone else thinking the dehydration clause was 160lbs as Eubank said he made the weight Saturday morning at 159.7lbs.

Maybe he tried to tell us all along with this 60% stuff.

I remember vividly myself and Deserter (where are you, mate?) who was working for a cycling mag at the time, or had been in recent times, we were explaining to others and chatting between ourselves about why it was pretty much a cast iron certainty that Lance Armstrong was using PEDS. We got slaughtered at the time from some because it was when he was still a global superstar and hero, it was a decade before his Oprah interview. People believe what they want to believe and objectivity goes out of the window.
Hi mate, still lurking, though sadly episodes like this are making it ever harder to stay in love with the sport. Not much I can add to what's already been said, though perhaps worth mentioning that Hearn's persistent desire to be so front and centre for Matchroom has badly backfired here and his 'personal brand' has been badly tarnished. Some terrible comms decisions around the whole affair that could have long-lasting repercussions....

There are a lot of knowledgeable posters who have wrote some excellent posts concerning the wide range of circumstances surrounding the Benn v Eubank fight being cancelled.

My opinion is basically regardless of whether Benn is gulty or not, he is going to get away with it on a technicality. The outrageous technicality being is the BBBofC do not recognise VADA and seemingly want to stick by their guns by only recognising UKAD to which Benn has passed their tests.

One glaring point is I am willing to bet the latest UKAD tests were taken after the VADA thus giving more time for the offending items to pass through the system. Why oh why are people reluctant to be open to giving this information?

I say again Benn is going to get away with this on a technicality.

Certain personalities dont seem to give a fcuk about doing whats right in keeping British Boxings reputation intact.

Where is the B Sample?? What is the delay??

I still think this fight takes place albeit possibly in another country.

Furthermore I also think the BBBofC are going to get sued because of their stance in this. I repeat they do not have the money for a major legal fight.

Mr Hearn repeatedly mentions that “due process” has not been followed and it is on this basis that I think Benn is going to get away with it.

Morally this whole saga leaves an extremely bitter taste and its going to get a whole lot worse …

A word that keeps coming up in my head “morally” … the problem is many people in various positions in boxing do not give a toss about what is right morally

Boxing has NEVER been in a worse position than what it is now.

The due process Eddie seems to want is for drug test failures to not lead to the fight being cancelled.

A drug test is a snapshot in time. It's no use trying to diminish it's significance if the other tests were ok. We know these drugs can leave the system quickly. That's what everyone involved in drug cheating wants. So a failed test is damning. By all means have a due process which allows the fighter the opportunity to explain things. But you can't let the fight go ahead. This is where Eddie is fundamentally at odds with the rest of the world.

He is taking the sport into dangerous territory and it's remarkable that such a normally savvy and intelligent man has made such a mistake. Presumably it indicates the pressure he's under with dazn.

I never thought I'd see the day that Eddie hearn would dig himself into such a hole.

That's probably the case and pretty eye opening if so.

I suppose there were 4 million reasons why Eubank Jr agreed to it, but it might have been real problematic for him if juiced up Benn took him into the trenches.

Agreed; he had every right to be upset.

If it was my son, I would have created holy hell too.

The whole tawdry saga stinks and when the dust settles, I hope Hearn and Sauerland learn from this and I hope the Benn's can look themselves in the mirror.

I think senior leaked this story and if so, well done that man.

If it was Senior who leaked it why didn’t he leak it earlier ? It seems like Team Eubank knew about the failed test weeks ago

Sr seems more pissed that Jr is making his own decisions and not allowing him to make them for him, he done an interview with Spencer X and Tunde but there isn't enough money in the world you can pay me to watch that but I seen a Benson tweet where Sr says he gave jr everything and basically says if it wasn't for him his son wouldn't be anywhere so why should he be allowed to be his own boss, mong logic, sure Jr should be appreciative of what his dad's done for him but he's a grown man and ultimately he should make the decisions regarding his own career

Sr is egomaniac and although comes across quite harmless and funny he's actually a hindrance to his sons career, I realized that when he was swanning around Jr's corner posing when he really should've been helping his son seeing as he's such a concerned father
