These sort of things are only as good as the scoring system they are using to get the result. Considering there is little to no detail in that aspect of it. I'd take this with a huge dose of salt.

Woke nonsense. If she opened a shopping centre in Dublin I’m sure there would be a decent turnout but in terms of more widespread recognition she’’s fairly anonymous. That’s not to say that virtue signalling companies wouldn’t choose her to front a campaign over a much more well known male boxer purely to play the woke card

Very few boxers have real crossover appeal these days and are thereby marketable to the masses. In the uk only AJ and Fury are.

Whether it’s woke nonsense or not, companies want to market women athletes more than ever before.

You’re right re: opening a shopping centre. Compared to guys like Fury, Taylor would bring a smaller amount of fans out in comparison. That doesn’t change the point though that more companies would likely want to work Taylor than Fury and have her associated with their brands. That’s why Fury’s only got a few deals (WoW Hydrate is the only one I can think of) and makes money out of merch/his own drink and Taylor was sponsored by Bank of Ireland and has reportedly turned down several big sponsorship deals.

I suppose we’re arguing over semantics here. If you and I set up rival car dealerships in the same city selling exactly the same cars and I used Fury to market mine and you used Taylor I don’t think you’d disagree that I’d get much more business than you. So in the traditional sense Fury is way more marketable.

However big business and the media fall over themselves to show us that they’re, superficially at least, diverse and inclusive. As such i agree with you that they’re more likely to hire Taylor than Fury to market their products? Does that make her more marketable than Fury or just a fortunate beneficiary of wokeism ?

I agree with your comparisons and, whether we like it or not, it’s the world we live in now.

It does make her make more marketable than Fury because there will be far more big companies wanting her to market their products and services than Tyson. It may partly be down to her benefitting from wokeism but it’s just as much down to Tyson’s past indiscretions. If he doesn’t have the history of homophobia, failed drugs tests etc then there’d be far more companies wanting him to be a face of their company.

It’s easy to forget the other 49% of the population, who wouldn’t touch anything to do with Fury with a barge pole.

Wow Katie Taylor must be a billionaire by now, with all these companies falling over themselves desperate to sponsor her.

I would query it not by reference to gender but to the point in her career that she has reached. She's 36 and likely only has two or three more years left in her career. If you're a brand seeking to partner with a boxer, you want a boxer who fits all of the following: (a) well-known; (b) has a positive reputation free from controversy; (c) is either just hitting the peak of their career or is on their way up to it. Taylor ticks box (b) well enough, is 50:50 on (a), but fails on (c) entirely. The only exceptions for (c) are the Henry Coopers and Frank Brunos who are so massively known they still front ads in retirement.

Despite all that, she may still be the most marketable female boxer in the world. Am struggling to think of an active one to put above her, although a retired Nicola Adams may still be more marketable overall.

Which just confirms she’s an incredibly boring personality and not widely marketable in the slightest.

Boring doesn’t have much to do with whether companies want to work with you. AJ’s pretty dull yet has had deals with Hugo Boss, Under Armour, Lynx, Beats, Jaguar Land Rover, JD Sports, Lucozade and Audemars Piguet amongst others. Fury’s the polar opposite, always talking and getting headlines yet just has WoW Hydrate and his own energy drink.

Re: c, whilst I think that’s what companies would look for, the bulk of the top 10 are sportspeople who are towards the end of their careers so they must be simply be looking at the now and not what happens in the next few years.

Indeed, AJ is a very good example of a genuinely marketable boxer. Which is exactly why it’s nonsensical to have Taylor ranked above him.

AJ has alienated some people in the last 2 years. I had mates who refused to pay PPV for his first fight with Usyk after what he said at the BLM rally. I didn’t agree with their take on it but he’s certainly not as clean cut anymore.

no one in their right mind, if given the choice to have any boxer in the world to promote/sell to the public, would choose katie taylor

I saw creed 3 is out soon and looked on IMDb as I wondered if mr T was going to be in it.

Looked at the cast and saw some woman with a load of belts. Looked at her profile and it said she was one of the most successful women boxers.

Genuinely never heard of her

I see Bellew is back in it.. and Canelo plays ‘Saul’..

The woman you’re referring to is Jessica McCaskill.

Hearn has been promoting her.

She beat that Norweigan lady Brækhus twice.

Undisputed at WW.

Lost to Katie Taylor a few good years back.

Remember a few years back, there was someone on here with the name Katie Taylor.

Some on here had a few interactions with the person.

Was that actually her?

It seems from the posts that it was her or atleast pretending to be her but there doesn't look like there's a reason why it wouldn't be her.

Yeh. Signature was KT.

Don’t see why someone would pretend.

And only commented on a few Taylor threads.
