Nevertheless he isn't a banger, he wore Wilder out rather than anything else.

Whyte is hardly rock solid in the chin department
CORRECT ,,,,CORRECT ,,,,and CORRECT ,,,

Tyson has also been with that many trainers over the years , e would off learnt a bit here and a bit there , till he has a enormous amount of boxing Knoledge upstairs ,,, under Peter or it could of been his other uncle , he did learn to move very well for a big man , he learnt to use his size to his advantage , BUT it was at the expense of his power , he probably could always hit hard just did'nt box in a style suited to it .. Under the Kronx and sugar hill ,, he's changed style to hit harder , which he obvioisly is , but how much harder who knows he's not been knocking out elephants ,, read Coco's post but one thing he is doing is fighting the way a man of his size should do , aggressive

Was Uncle Pete not a good trainer ?
Don't really know , if he is or not , only know of 3 he's trained . lets go through them .

Tyson ...... Well too be honest i don't think you can judge Peter on him , because Tyson has been around the fight game for so long , had so many trainers and been to so many gyms , , my aunty fanny could of trained him he just knew what to do and Peter let him do it ,, Sugar has been the one that Tyson sought out and listened too , so he's the man where Tyson is concerened , he got Tyson to adjust his style completly .

Hughie , his son well i have said on here in the past , its time for Hughie to move on and find a different trainer , wether Hughie has got has far has he has on his natural fighting talent or his dads training methods , i don't know , but what i do think is he's gone has far has he can with his father , it won't happen , but its time for hughie to move on improve or get out the sport . he's gonna end up drawing quacky ducks on his bedroom wall the way he's going , but the potential is there
plus theres the thing mentioned about his changing apperance and what that alludes too ,, that i will not comment on , because i've stated many times i hav'nt got a clue where that stuff is concerned ,, what i do know is if the boars meat and the rest of the inuendoes are true , i suppose a real good trainer would of had a machine to work with and got better results

Marshal , well sorry not impressed , in the one fight i seen her in , , she was fit no doubt , but was not impressed with her skill level , then again i admit i don't like womens boxing .

Is peter a good trainer , don't know lets see when he fronts other boxers up ,,, what i do believe about peter is what i've heard him say , he's only there for the fighters , and regardless i do believe he's doing his best to HIS OWN ABILITY

It’s quite interesting to me that two in the know guys like @coneye and @mickey1975 cast doubts on Peter’s abilities yet there’s barely any wider criticism of him on this forum.

Contrast that with the abuse hurled at “Boxercise Ben” and “Tesco Joe” who to the layman like me seem to have had better careers than Peter.

Boxercise deserves everything thrown at him ,, he's a fitness trainer who got freinds with a couple of top level boxers , but then goes on to critisise others with years of experience , guys a plonker , he's just managed to convince good boxers to go with him because of Tyson , who he had boxing all wrong against wilder anyway , remember saying that after the first one , and sugar got it right after .

Tesco Joe ,, i really can't understand the hate for him , i think he's very good , just based on the fact look at the consistency he has at getting boxers to a really good level , its not easy , theres not thousands of mayweathers or dela hoyas around ,, he's took average boxers to very good level and good level to excellent level ,, he does improve fighters and they reach there levl under him , that too me makes a real good trainer , quite often its the fighter makes the trainer , but when you have a trainer who continually has top lads you got to throw the bouquets his way .

Peter well like i said not enough fighters to make assumptions has to wether he has made two average fighters good , Hughie and whats her name ,, or wether two good fighters have under acheived with him.

Whilst on about trainers ,, was never a big fan thought he was a celebrity trainer , but have definetly changed my mind now , and thats young Shane Mcguigan ,, he really is doing a good job is'nt he , you can see boxers have improved with him and then regressed without him , that is the sign of a good trainer , defo knows his job and he's still learning , few more champs to come out of that camp

those 2 also have had way more fighters, it's natural they'd get more comments, although defo some of it is their personalities rubbing the wrong way

Did Tyson box all that differently against Wilder than he did against Wlad ?

I can understand why people take a dislike to Ben, he unashamedly doesn’t fit the mould of the typical boxing trainer and he comes across as very arrogant but I’m not having it that he just smooth talks top boxers into hiring him based on his association with Tyson. There must be a lot more substance to him than that or he wouldn’t last two weeks with the guys who hire him.

I agree with you about Mcguigan.

In the first fight Fury tried to box, he was criticised by his dad for being too light as well (256). In the subsequent rematches after Davison was dropped he came heavier (mid 270s), went on the front foot and used his size and weight more. It would've been interesting to see what the result agains Klitschko would've been had his used that tactic instead.

He was 40lbs heavier than Wilder though which lends a certain logic to deciding to go on the front foot in the rematch. Him and Wlad were the same weight and Wlad is arguably more heavy handed - it might not have ended well for Tyson.

I agree with you about Mcguigan.
Against Klitchko , Tyson boxed the way he had boxed for a long time, lots of movement slippy and quite fast and elusive for a guy so big ,, ,, did he just catch an old man at the end of his carreer , or box a marvelous fight ,, leave that for people to make there own mind up ,, against Wilder 1st time , smaller lighter guy with a BIG PUNCH , what would of happenned if he got caught in rnd 3 with a big punch , two and three he was a different boxer under Sugar , theres the thing Sugar looked at him made ajustments to his whole boxing style and turned him into a guy who started punching his weight .

You say ,There must be a lot more substance to him than that or he wouldn’t last two weeks with the guys who hire him.

It takes more than two weeks to get a boxer to start regressing but note Billy Joe left ,, Tyson left , and now Taylor has left . Show me ONE boxer who has actually ben taught from scratch by him , or even one who's improved under him ,

And if you do .I'll just return and say ,, GIVE THEM TIME
