What is everyone even doing?
The radio silence to date is because Hearn and co have had to plan how to diffuse this. I suspect there will have been 3 tracks to this:
Scientific - turning over every stone to undermine the positive test... you're seeing this already with talk about 'traces' and about other tests being negative. Aim will be to make the positive look like an outlier and less significant than it first seemed.
Legal - Will argue due process hasn't been followed etc in a bid to muddy the waters further and cast Benn as the victim rather than the perpetrator.
Emotional - "not the type to do this...', 'not treated fairly', 'sacrifices he's made' etc, etc. Again, it's about casting Benn as the innocent victim in all of this.

Takes time to build the PR narrative around these 3 pillars, but rest assured that's what will have been going on behind the scenes over the past few weeks. now it's time for attack as the best form of defence, hence Hearn starting to engage publicly again, he'll have been briefed on what to say and how to say it... and he'll stick to the script.

Sadly we already know the playbook, Canelo's positive being a perfect example of this.
First of all your post is an excellent one.

Now lets say fighter A & fighter B fail a test. As a promotional team you use exactly the same process as above for both fighters Irrespective of the individual cases?

As soon as an adverse finding comes in the process starts.

Are you saying as CEO of Spud Promotions you don’t give a **** whether fighter a or b are guilty you are going to use the same process?

So, to ask the obvious you are more concerned about the repercussions and reputation of Spud Promotions than individual fighters?

Or another question could be a lesser ban for spilling the beans?

They are going with the line that the test was contaminated.

They are going to need to do better than that as at present his name is mud. And every time there is a development it pulls boxing through the mud with him.

Without delay we need to know why the BBBC and Matchroom/Saurland were sanctioning a fight who had a positive test with seemingly no explanation other than usage of a banned substance.

This stinks.

I know the BBBofC have published their letter.

But I cannot believe Mr Hearn would say what he has today if there wasnt a twist to all this.

Strange decision, it's like handing in your notice before you get fired from your job.

I think anything he does will only dig a deeper hole in terms of the public perception of him. He'll probably try and take it to court and rack up fees to the point where BBBofC would be bankrupted in a similar way to Fury.

I think the risk for Hearn is that he's no longer with Sky and is on a fairly unknown streaming service and his personality comes off as sleazy which he has got away with up until now due to being somewhat entertaining and appealing to the right crowd. Being sleazy and shady at the same time without the Sky propaganda isn't going to go down well in the long run.

It will just be a case of “Conor didn’t feel it was right to keep his licence until his name was cleared, which we are certain it will be” etc etc.

I have to say if it were me I wouldn’t hand in my licence and I would definitely attend ALL hearings about this matter.

If the BBBofC are correct in issuing their guilty verdict … why didnt they issue the ban as well.

Could he have relinquished it for a behind closed doors agreement for a shorter ban for not contesting it? I think this definitely isn't the last we've heard of this.

They can't ban him now he's relinquished his licence - He isn't a licence holder.

Listening to earn with Hearn, it sounds like they are going to tie it up in knots with scientists offering up contamination as the reason. It appears there was more than one positive test too.

Do the BBBofC have to issue a ban if a license is
relinquished?

I seem to remember when David Haye had that fight with Chisora I am sure David handed in his license… I could be wrong on that.

The board didnt issue a fine or ban because David wasn’t technically a license holder.

Sorry Twinkle saw your post after I wrote the above

So now that he doesn’t have a license..

The way they ‘ban’ him is they don’t issue him with a new license.. for an amount of time.

I think it was Chisora who had his licence removed so they had to use a license from another country

Hearn has become a total bell…

“Can’t say much for legal reasons” but then constantly emphasises “trace sample” and “contamination”.
