As an editor of boxrec I have uploaded thousands of fights during the last twenty years. I am interested in reconstructing the amateur records of two of Chicago's greatest amateurs: Ben Black and Frank Steele.
Black was the dominant amateur heavyweight in the early sixties, winning a national title and having a short, overmatched pro career in which he was stopped by Cleveland Williams.
Steele from Gary, Indiana won 4 Chicago GG titles and knocked out Earnie Shavers in the amateurs. As a pro he went 5-0 but retired due to an eye injury.
If anyone has info on their career let me know.
