Relinquish sounds more sexier than stripped.

“Benn never had his liscence stripped or suspend” - Eddie Hearn Feb 2023.

Fury managed to get his back with a backdated "time served" ban with the caveat he doesn't bankrupt the BBBofC so I guess that might be Hearn's next step.

Really does show up what a complete disgrace it all is ,, . Think its time to either legalise it all or govt step in and take control of the bbbc ,, Its obvious they hav'nt got the power or the guts to do what needs to be done . and thats

Bann the fighter for a long long period ,

Bann his trainer for half the same period

If found to know about it Strip the promoter of his liscence

Its a joke really , it does need some form of govt control

Like I say this is not the end of the matter.

Expect Team Benn to bite back & Mr Hearn to take the BBBofC to court for allegedly not following due process.

I naively thought Connor would eat some humble pie, which might still happen although I doubt it.
I also naively thought people would be named and shamed to get a smaller ban.

It seems a ban will not be issued due to Conor no longer being a license holder. Incidentally Conor will be denied any licence not just as a fighter by the BBBofC

Another interesting point is when will people from within boxing openly condemn Team Benn & Mr Hearn. Now the BBBofC have upheld the charge

Doubt they will ,, most will not want to fall foul of Hearn future paydays free tickets ,, being part of the gang and all that , and most will not want to upset Nigel Benn he's a british institution a big favorite , of most ,,

They’ve upheld the charge but it’s still ongoing. I think UKAD are involved now so that will take time.

I’m not really sure of the purpose of today’s hearing. I’d imagine no further evidence was presented either way and the board was never going to let him fight whilst UKAD are reviewing things.

Benn has put a tweet out reiterating he is a clean athlete and the boards unfair and biased procedure made it difficult for him to focus on clearing his name.

Honestly, what is going on  does anyone know what this conduct stuff is about? This might not get announced for a while whilst it's "an active investigation".

Hasn’t he had enough time to get his story straight? Why exactly would “legal proceedings” prevent him from telling the truth?

Isn’t the unspoken and unpalatable truth that nobody at a high level in boxing, be they trainers or fighters or promoters, will condemn Benn because most of them are doping or a party to doping themselves ?

If you aren’t a licence holder, you can’t have action taken against you (or be fined).

This also takes the Board out of all the commotion and spin we are going to see in the next few months. If asked to comment they will be able to effectively say ‘not our problem’.

Once he has ‘cleared’ his name he will just go back and reclaim his licence - which will be all the easier as it was never ‘taken’ off him.

A journalist on Talksport who was a guest reviewing the next day's papers said that by relinquishing his license Benn wouldn't have to pay a £50,000 fine issued by BBBofC.

I was discussing the Connor Benn saga whose views are quite strong, similar to some people on here.

I found myself getting quite annoyed.

I asked the person “do you not want Connor to be proven innocent “?

The conversation set me thinking.

I really hope Connor is innocent. For his families legacy and all the people around him. And of course BOXING

From the snipits that have come out in the last few weeks I have an opinion as to Benns innocence.

Benn has a lot of good people around him and if he cant prove his innocence then the sh*t is going to hit the fan, which is not only going to affect Benn.

As said already although this case has gone on for a few weeks only snipits of information has come out and it is my opinion Benn is going to find it very difficult.

Also as stated theres more twists to come.
