Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
What can Conor do?
I hope and think the right thing to do for Conor is be apologetic, humble, honest and to cough to whats gone on.
Believe it or not I actually think out iof this horrible mess for boxing, Conor could actually do some good by being humble and honest.
No excuses, this is what I did, and these people were also complicit in this horrible situation.
People are calling for a life ban on various sites on youtube etc etc… believe it or not I am not, on the strict condition Benn is honest and open how these adverse findings came about.
I hope Conor sees sense.

It’s all just gone horribly wrong.
Too much blame game, vada this, BBBofC that..
No one is giving straight answers.
You wanna swear your innocence but you ain’t doing shit.. no one has come across well.
The fact they tried to continue after knowing about a FAILED test.
If he’s not gonna fight for BBBofC, what’s he gonna do? Go US? Like his dad did?
It’s not the boards fault that he failed the test. They are partly to blame because they knew, but it was Benn who has failed the test.

Can they actually prove that drug can be found in eggs or chickens? It can’t be that common otherwise Benn wouldn’t be the first fighter to fail a test due to it. The other issue is Benn has stated he doesn’t eat meat so that rules eating chicken out. Plus he’s on record saying his diet is so closely monitored that he can’t take a vitamin pill without running it past his nutritionist. Also the fact the bombshell announcement is as basic as contaminated food, and not cross contamination in the testing process, suggests the B samples failed too.
If only their team had an expert on hormone therapy to help explain it. Oh wait they do.

I listened to an interview with Benn a while back when he was talking about how great his plant based diet was. Not sure when he started eating eggs by the dozen and who cares. It's nothing more than a distraction.
These interviews are horrendous

Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
This is a real mess now.
I’m not sure why the BBBC had the hearing this week. It’s still far too early as, I assume, the B sample results aren’t back and UKAD haven’t made any ruling on it yet. The BBBC wanted to fine him £50k. That’s fine but wait until the drugs thing has played out first.
So he failed 2 tests. Eddie and Kalle were clear in that they heard about the second failed test a couple of weeks before the fight. Did they know about the first failed test a month or so before then and were happy to stay quiet on it?!
Did the BBBC know about the first failed test 6 weeks or so pre fight? If so, why wait until a couple of days pre fight to cancel it? I don’t have sympathy for them but the promoters, fighters (Eubank and the undercard guys) and DAZN would have collectively spent loads in those 6 weeks.
Kalle said that both Benn and Eubank wanted VADA testing. If Benn’s been using them why even bother requesting VADA? So arrogant he thinks he won’t get caught?
If he’s failed 2 VADA tests, when were the UKAD tests? Did they show he was clean for clomiphene on their tests? If so, why would that happen if, as Benn’s saying, clomiphene stays in your system for several months?
From my limited understanding, clomiphene is mainly used to boost testosterone to normal levels after they’ve been depleted following a round of steroids. A hair follicle test should work for Conor (it works better on people with dark fair) in showing whether he’s been on steroids. Has he taken one? If not, why?
Benn’s doctor talked about microdosing overnight to avoid detection. Can clomiphene be used to microdose and boost testosterone overnight?
How good is the evidence re: chickens/eggs containing clomiphene? Is it just hearsay or is there a solid basis behind it as an excuse? I thought the Mexican beef excuse was bullshit but from spending a fair bit of time reading about it it actually seems legit hence why WADA increased the threshold on it.
I was expecting something more concrete from Benn. I don’t know whether that’s good or bad. I think it’d be easier to come out with the Kevin Lerena excuse that he took his partner’s pills or traces were passed through kissing or some rubbish.

It would be a good excuse in America or Mexico as farmers can give that substance to their chickens. It's against regulations in the UK, so the defense falls down there. If it can't be in the chicken, it can't be in the eggmaverick23 wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 06:08

First he had no idea how the substance ended up his system, now it's the chicken's fault?
Next it will be a spiked drink, then a mysterious American fighter who is friends with Chris Eubank interfering with the testing procedure, finally culminating in I have been doping for years, but only because everyone else was doing it.

So the rules in the U.K. that I can’t be in chickens that are sold for chicken meat? Or it can’t be given to chickens for any reason?

This guy’s a really good listen. Danny Flexon also did an interview with him during what was meant to be fight week which was good too.

Yep - it certainly would. Now will his excuse be that Jersey (where he was training) hens are full of the stuff.
If it were close to being a credible reason then surely fighters in the US, where chickens probably are injected with the stuff, would popping positive all the time?! Or does Benn think he’s Cool Hand Luke and has far more than anyone else?!

Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
I can’t believe there isn’t any suggestion that Hearn and Sauerland could lose their promoters licenses.
They were selling PPV’s & allowing fans to spend fortunes on travel & accommodation for weeks after Benn’s positive test & were trying to allow the fight to happen with a doped fighter.
It’s ridiculous. Have the board got that little power?

It’s not up to the promoters to govern the sport. I have more issue with the board on this as to why they didn’t cancel it sooner.a force wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 06:58 I can’t believe there isn’t any suggestion that Hearn and Sauerland could lose their promoters licenses.

Benn just continually making things worse for himself, must be getting some really bad advice from someone, it's hardly like he is a big name in world boxing and not even a champion so who will want to deal with him going forward ?

The only tiny bit of sympathy I have with Conor is that it appears the Board knew about both failed tests and only decided to pull the fight at very late notice after it was leaked to the press. So they basically said “it’s fine to continue using PEDs” until they were all rumbled. Can certainly see why an ambitious young fighter wouldn’t be deterred from taking anything, since the Board clearly don’t give a toss.

I think people are probably overlooking that the Clomid is likely just a post cycle drug to help restore the body’s natural testosterone levels. Before all that he likely had a full blown steroid cycle, that’s where he would have obtained his real performance gains from.

That’s what I thought but it stays in your system for 1-3 months so surely he’s not stupid enough to do that and sign up to VADA.polecateddy wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 08:44 I think people are probably overlooking that the Clomid is likely just a post cycle drug to help restore the body’s natural testosterone levels. A hair follicle test would prove whether he’s been on the cycle to begin with. I’m surprised he hasn’t voluntarily done that if he’s innocent.
Given Dr Usman’s comments, I’m more inclined to believe that it may have been used for micro-dosing but I’m not even sure if there’s any pros from doing that with clomiphene.

That’s the name of it when it’s prescribed. It’s a very strong fertility drug, that obviously woman take when they have trouble conceiving. From what I’ve read and heard though clomiphene stays in your system for months though. Would be pretty dumb to take a load of steroids (whilst signed up to VADA through being in the WBC rankings) and then take this after when you sign up to increased VADA for a specific fight.watsupdoc87 wrote: ↑28 Oct 2022, 10:23Yeah we used to take chlomid and something we called tomoxophine at the end of a course. 1 was for getting your balls back in order and the other was for the gyno if i remember correctly. If he was on a cycle of steroids then a hair follicle test would almost certainly show that. Surely if he wasn’t on a cycle then he’d do what Canelo did and do the hair follicle testing?!
