Jeremiah Milton US Heavyweight April 10th
Jeremiah Milton US Heavyweight April 10th
April 10th, on the ESPN+ undercard, Jeremiah Milton is in his third fight in front of hometown fans. I think he can turn out ot be a force in the HW division. Give him a watch and let me know what you think. Here is an article about him well. Great management team behind him, solid promoter, could be a future star.
Undefeated heavyweight sensation, Jeremiah Milton (2-0, 2 KOs), is scheduled to make his hometown debut on Saturday, April 10 at the Osage Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Milton will square off against Jayvone Dafney (2-2, 2 KOs) of McComb, Mississippi.
The 4-round bout, promoted by Top Rank, in association with Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and Tony Holden Productions, will air live and exclusive on ESPN+, with the broadcast set to start at 5:30 p.m. ET/4:30 pm CST.
Milton, who is trained by two-time world champion, Bones Adams, relocated from his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma to Las Vegas, NV, in 2020, to pursue his boxing career at the highest level. Having been in training camps with the likes of Luis Ortiz, Joy Joyce, and Michael Hunter, Milton feels convinced he has what it takes to be the next heavyweight standout. Fighting in Tulsa, his hometown, is something Milton has been envisioning since he turned professional.
“Maybe this is what it feels like to balance the highs and lows,” said Jeremiah Milton, from his Las Vegas training camp. “I’m a working man and not being able to fight or having fights getting canceled can test you. Despite that, I remain on the same path. The city of Tulsa created my mold, I woke up early mornings and you’d probably catch me running the town. April 10th I’ll be bringing back some of my new experiences for you to witness close up. Welcome to Dreamland.”
“We are ecstatic that Jeremiah will be fighting in his hometown because we know he’s very popular out there,” said Mike Leanardì, CEO of Victory Sports & Entertainment, who manages Milton. “We’ve had a few fights fall out, so we are hoping this one stays intact. The entire city of Tulsa is excited about boxing returning to it’s city and we want to thank Top Rank for putting him on.”
“With the pandemic coming to a close, we have big plans to keep Jeremiah busy in 2021,” said Rick Torres, of Victory Sports & Entertainment. “This will be the first fight of many this year and we are thrilled that it’s taking place in Tulsa, where all his family and friends can attend.”

Re: Jeremiah Milton US Heavyweight April 10th
I saw him and he looked pretty good, but he's 27 and only had 2 pro fights, both against cans. So gotta step up quicker. usually the guys that turn pro that late and go on to biggish things are fast tracked and had very extensive international am careers, which he didnt
My hunch is that he's solid but doesnt become anything close to a force

Fair assessment man! I'm looking at it this way, say 3 years, Milton is 30. My guess is Wilder, Fury, Ortiz, Whyte, Chisora, Joyce, and a few others are retired or pretty close to it. A few of these upcoming HW's (A few possibilities on April 10th card) have to move up and be champs or serious contenders. So far I like what I've seen from Milton, personable guy as well. I think if he gets developed well, which I think he will with an excellent management team, I think he has a great shot to succeed. I think he has the overall tools to do well in the future of the division.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑01 Apr 2021, 17:25 I saw him and he looked pretty good, but he's 27 and only had 2 pro fights, both against cans. If others catch the undercard, a lot of HW prospects on it. Milton, Anderson, Lippe, Ajagba, and Conto. We are going to probably see a few future champs on the undercard Sat afternoon.

Milton, class act! A lot of guys would have thrown another 2 or 3 shots. Happy for him to impress in front of hometown fans.
Re: Jeremiah Milton US Heavyweight April 10th
I made a thread on the undercard fights in current scene, Maggie. Don't be too surprised of what i said about Sonny.

6 fights in 2 years pro, vs no one good, 28 years old.........he looks good but not really chuggin along ...........more like taking a stroll
a guy his age with good am experience and ability should be more like 10-0 (at minimum) with a half decent test already
his 2021 was slow , did he have an injury? at least this year he's fought more

Re: Jeremiah Milton US Heavyweight April 10th
I know a few cards have fallen thru late, whether the opponent or the card itself. I'm anticipating a good step up here in the next two fights. At least he's been getting some top quality sparring which should only help him in the meantime.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑28 Aug 2022, 03:11 6 fights in 2 years pro, vs no one good, 28 years old.........he looks good but not really chuggin along ...........more like taking a stroll

This guy is fighting a lot and earned a notch on my watch list.
Re: Jeremiah Milton US Heavyweight April 10th
Nice ending to an awkward style opponent tonight.
Heard a few things are going to be lined up for next year. Interested to see what happens for Milton in 2023. Could be a make or break year for him.

well, judging by 'getos post, im guessing jerry knocked someone out last night
Re: Jeremiah Milton US Heavyweight April 10th
Milton won by a KO in the opening few seconds of the 5th round. Sumpter didn't try to engage a ton and was moving around awkwardly. I thought Milton displayed good patience and power in the fight, plus a solid jab.CMCanavessi wrote: ↑30 Oct 2022, 01:40 So did he fight today? How did that go? Boxer has nothing still.

Re: Jeremiah Milton US Heavyweight April 10th
He looks ok, nothing too special at this stage but worth watching out for
He can join the list which includes
Sean Bey - pretty much cruiser but looks interesting at 7-0 (7)
Norman Neeley - about 12-0
And my marginal fave atm Roney Hines who is about 12-0 but has been matched slightly tougher.
All are due a meaningful matchup in order to gauge whether any of them have true potential ?
Another unbeaten one is Brandon Moore but he looks pretty awful tbh

Haven't given up yet on Hines, but he's not impressing.funso banjo baby wrote: ↑01 Nov 2022, 04:13 He looks ok, nothing too special at this stage but worth watching out for

Train keeps rolling along.
2023 will be a career defining year for Milton's trajectory I think, for either good or bad.

Re: Jeremiah Milton US Heavyweight April 10th
get him in with the loser of shaw-guido, i would say winner but since he's been can crushing mostly he should have another level to bridge the gap first
Re: Jeremiah Milton US Heavyweight April 10th
I think Milton vs Sonny Conto would be a perfect fight for both. Winner goes up to the next level.
I can't complain on the opponent tonight. His 5th fight this year, plus on the undercard of a PPV show.
If they are just trying to get him back in the ring fast and the promoter is being thrifty on the opponent purse, I'd like to see him get more rounds and experience. The likes of Terrell Woods wouldn't be bad.
Milton vs Morrison could co-main event a card in Oklahoma right now I'd think, for a smaller show of course.

Re: Jeremiah Milton US Heavyweight April 10th
i totally missed this one, but milton lost his first fight back in jan to 6 foot tall 280 pound stanley wright, who in 13 previous fights hadnt faced anyone with a winning record.
milton had been active, but then from august 2023 he didnt fight until the jan 2025 loss.
dropped by promoter? management issue? injury?

Stanley Wright, the bloke who beat Milton, is scheduled to fight in Kinshasa, Congo, on the 28th in a bill with FIFTY bouts, including some fairly well known names.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑17 Mar 2025, 02:42 i totally missed this one, but milton lost his first fight back in jan to 6 foot tall 280 pound stanley wright, who in 13 previous fights hadnt faced anyone with a winning record.
