He doesn't actually have a fight lined up yet for any date. You getting confused with confirmed and speculative dates again? If it is in May, then that obviously allows for a full training camp of 12 weeks +, something Dec 3rd didn't.
He'd agreed to the fight. FW quotes the dates available. It is over 12 and a half weeks away.
Having agreed the biggest fight in British boxing history did he:

1. Prepare to fight
or

2. Not prepare to fight.
September 16th to Dec 3rd is 11 weeks, Doofus. It doesn't matter how many times you repeat it, it doesn't change.

Any updates on why Fury set the unneeded deadlines? The fact you can't even answer this shows that you know it was a load of shyte and a way to get out. :salut:

Probably just you and me. I browsed Geordie's videos after this Fury interview brought him to my attention, but then backed straight out when I saw Peterson.

I'm sure Peterson'd get on well with Fury, though.

In the crazy boxing world we live in, I wouldn't be surprised if they have an exhibition on pay-per-view.
Absolutely. It really is a strange period of time. If, a few years ago, you told me that the biggest draw in boxing in 2022 would be an early 20 something taking on washed up 40 something non boxers or that we would have a Heavyweight Champion that munches wild uncastrated boar, but swerves the best opposition , I wouldn't have believed you. But, seemingly, that is the position we find ourselves in.

He accepted the fight over 12 and a half weeks before.
He chose not to prepare.
His team were instructed to stop returning calls.
He's done an interview bumbling on about needing to rest mentally and now we're told he might not fight for another 6 months.

Errr, because he was waiting for a fight date before going to the gym,. That is quite normal to boxing.
FW told him the fight date 12 and a half weeks before. Why didn't he go the gym?
Because the fight wasn't signed and anyone who knows their arse from their elbow knows Fwank tells lies.
He agreed the terms and the date.
The fight wasn't signed because he wouldn't sign and his team were instructed not to return calls.
Do you think that fighters only go the gym when they have a fight signed for?

Every fight has deadlines.
Joshua was abroad doing fashion shows and hadn't even sorted out a training team. When his team stopped returning calls it was obvious that he didn't want to fight.

Terms weren’t agreed. 2 of the main ones were - there were still an awful lot of others to sort. Otherwise Frank would have just sent a one-pager over when AJ said he was up for the fight rather than him needing 9/10 days or so to get something sent over.

Not personal deadlines, ultimately used as an escape clause.
Can you give any other examples of fighters setting personal deadlines?

You're repeating yourself again.

I always find it hilarious when a champion cherry-picks some bum to fight then spends the entire promotion bigging them up, exactly the opposite of how they would promote against a serious rival.

Straight manure comes out of Tyson Furys mouth, the man's an idiot. He'll beat Fury then retire for the 11th time. Bit of luck he might mean it one of these times and fade off into obscurity where the big freak belongs.

Why do Fury followers not understand that:

- ‘Agreeing’ a fight verbally, in principle, is a million miles away from the fight being actually signed. Particularly if the contract is then full of clauses.

- Setting fake, moveable, deadlines that have no meaning immediately undermines the fight. If the negotiations are ongoing, why can’t the fight be moved back a few weeks? It just shows it’s a BS offer.

Then throw in the mix that AJ knew Chisora had been offered the fight without public deadlines.

Given those circumstances, why wouldn’t he fulfil prior agreed commitments?

It ain't a deal until it's signed and it was never signed. Do you not understand the concept of signatures?

Verbal offer on the 6th, first contract sent on the 16th and that’s seemingly with little discussion between the teams between those dates which would normally slow things down.

Fury then issues an ultimatum on the 23rd (just 7 days after the contract was sent where they’d seemingly been little discussion between the teams before it was issued). The ultimatum was ‘if it’s not done by Monday, I’m moving on’.

Fury then on the 26th says ‘“Well guys, it’s official. D-day has come and gone. It’s gone past five o’clock, Monday. No contract has been signed. It’s officially over for Joshua.’

He then announced the following day he was fighting Manuel Charr.

As I’ve said before I think Fury did want the fight. He’s just not intelligent enough to realise that these kind of things gave AJ’s team a reason not to progress. If he keeps his mouth shut then I think Matchroom and AJ would have ended up signing, despite Matchroom not wanting to.

Any slight criticism of Fury allows for shifting of the complete blame from AJ. That can never be done by a devoted Fury follower, as witnessed on here.
If quoting you, the devoted Fury will delete the parts of your post he doesn't like/can't answer.
Chisora said that Fury was completely obsessed with 'the bodybuilder' and it appears his followers are the same, there's no room for any objectivity at all.

I should have worded that question better based on the specific situation.
All the examples you've provided are giving deadlines of over a week or more, and after initial contract talks have begun (the exception being Jake Paul v Tyson...really? ).
Fury was setting deadlines before the contract was even delivered, which is completely unrealistic.
Then, the first day of negotiations with all relevant parties meeting to discuss, he set a dealine of 5pm that same day. A deadline of less than a day. Again completely unrealistic.

So any examples of personal deadlines being set with less than a day's notice of contract negotiations starting?

As you well know there was another deadline and negotiations carried on after that and Joshua's team never provided a turnaround on the contract.

https://www.thesportsman.com/articles/g ... fury-fight

Joshua has hinted at "mentally needing a rest" yet you insist he would have signed if Fury kept his mouth shut. What do you think it was that Fury said that affected Joshua's mental state so badly?

You asked for examples of fighters setting deadlines and I've given you a list of them.
Now your turn to give me examples of other fighters who have agreed terms to fight, freestyled about signing the contract and travelled abroad to do fashion shows instead of training whilst their trainer was on a different continent.
