To be fair, he did have the same trainer for the large majority of his career. I'm sure he could learn a lot off other top trainers (if his ego allows).mickey1975 wrote: ↑10 Nov 2022, 08:16Aj really believes he’s still learning. “I’m trying to get those titles back. I just spoke to Anthony Joshua, he told me he wants to make something happen, he wants to make the trilogy – that’d be pretty cool!” Ruiz Jr told Intu Boxing. “I just brought it up, but that’s how things happen, and fights get made, so we’ll see.”

I suppose technically a trilogy fight is feasible as it is 1-1 between the two of them, but their rematch was so tedious that I'm not sure I care anymore.
Their rematch was basically one wouldn't and the other one couldn't.

If i was anything to do with AJ, I would be making sure his head is in the right place before chucking him with anyone.
Its a difficult conversation to have, but, I honestly believe everything is not right.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. TBA - March 2023
Yeah after getting beat x2 by Usyk and a potential fight with Fury falling out he doesn’t seem in the best mental position.
Needs a good 6 months off then a complete rebuild job assuming he wants to carry on.
Whyte x2 would be okay… so would soft-hitting Wallin. Stay away from Wilder, Joyce or Dubois for now.
He’s still young, always in nick. Take your time and I’m sure he’ll become a champion again.

Agreed. I think he should have time off, see a sports psychologist and pick the correct trainer.

Otto Wallin on Fighting Anthony Joshua: I Think I Deserve That Fight
“Well, they haven’t reached out to me personally, but I know there have been talks between Eddie and Dmitry, my promoter,” Wallin told SecondsOut. “There’s some talks there. I don’t know if there are any updates on it. I’m hoping there will be. I would really like that fight. Joshua, I still consider him one of the best in the division and he’s a really big name. By fighting him and beating him I think it could really propel my name and take me to new heights. I think I deserve that fight.
“I fought Fury, gave him a really good fight, and then had a win over Travis Kauffman, Dominic Breazeale. Then I took a couple of stay-busy fights. It’s been a little frustrating at times, but I think these big fights are going to come and I know I’m ready for that. I just hope I get the fights that I deserve.”
“I still think he’s one of the best in the division, but he might have lost a little bit of confidence along the way,” Wallin said. “I think he has a lot of pressure on his shoulders and I think that showed in the Usyk fight and afterward.
"So we’ll see. I hope he comes back good. I want to fight him, of course.”

Wallin don't deserve shit
he's had a 'decent' win over Dom, but this year has been a let down.
He's spent the whole year just begging for fights.

I think he's just been marking time waiting for the big fight. I'm not a fan of Dillian Whyte, but he took on very strong opposition while he was waiting for his shot.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑18 Nov 2022, 11:48 Wallin don't deserve shit

Joshua gets some weird stick here. He got KOd off a beast of a puncher in Ruiz, boxed his tits off in the rematch and then lost twice to by far the best technical boxer in the division, he just wasn’t fast enough to beat. Look at Usyks face after the first fight. Joshua does serious damage.
He’d destroy Wilder imo. No way do I care about another Whyte fight. Rebuild in the gym not in shit fights.
Fighters lose. It doesn’t mean they are shit. Or that their career is over.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. TBA - March 2023
Agree with your last point but Ruiz is never in a million years a ‘beast of a puncher’ and Usyk was a career cruiser who hadn’t to that point exactly dazzled at heavyweight.Wee Tommy wrote: ↑18 Nov 2022, 16:13 Joshua gets some weird stick here. I’m not saying either is shite by any means but in no way has Joshua lost to a couple of all time heavyweight greats. Far, far from it
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. TBA - March 2023
At least you have to give AJ credit for taking the fights he could lose ,, Or am i the only one who thinks Ruiz could do the same to Fury has he did too AJ IN BOTH FIGHTS .. also Usyk could well do the same to Fury has he did to AJ in BOTH FIGHTS ..Wee Tommy wrote: ↑18 Nov 2022, 16:13 Joshua gets some weird stick here. Too be honest i think Ruiz has the style and speed to really do a number on Fury . Tyson can go back to old and run maul try and box but sooner or later Ruiz good footwork will catch up ,, Tyson can go in and fight with his new found strenght and leaning , but Ruiz would stand his ground and let his fast hands do the work he would catch Tyson clean , Usyk just outboxes him , WOULD'NT BE SUPRISED IF uSYK STOPPED fURY

Don't think theres an all time great in Heavyweight boxing at the moment , BUT in the future Usyk may be considered one , long way to go yet but who knows , given the chance i think he will clean up the heavyweight division , like he did cruiserweights , who will argue thenWee Tommy wrote: ↑18 Nov 2022, 16:34Who said all time greats?fizzjambo wrote: ↑18 Nov 2022, 16:22Agree with your last point but Ruiz is never in a million years a ‘beast of a puncher’ and Usyk was a career cruiser who hadn’t to that point exactly dazzled at heavyweight.Wee Tommy wrote: ↑18 Nov 2022, 16:13 Joshua gets some weird stick here. hearing ppl talk about him these days you'd think he's a total sh!thouse who cant fight and hasnt beaten anyone. he also has the deepest record and opposition of all the contenders and champs yet is bizarrely treated like some super protected can crusher. for some perspective after 2.5 years pro he easily ko'd dom breazeale , who wilder didnt fight until over a decade pro and is easily still one of dw's best wins, barely in josh's top 10 though
