I’m usually very pro boxer in disputes with promoters. It’s part of the reason I struggle to respect FW due to the times he’s not paid fighters.

For this though, and the Crawford allegation of racism against Top Rank, I think the boxers are in the wrong.

Okolie was headlining at the O2 in his 8th fight inside of a year from turning pro in front of a decent crowd (7-8,000 from memory). He won the Commonwealth, British and European inside of 14 fights (few fighters get the opportunity and do that) in 2 1/2 years of being pro and, despite several boring performances got a world title fight in his 16th fight. After the fight, he asked for £20-£30k Rolex. He was bought one.

I get people not being happy with things but to be going down the slave route was crazy considering the opportunities he’s had.

He needs to be facing Briedis or Makubu for unifications, even the likes of Kovalev or Dorticos, would be more interesting than Cieslak and Prasovic. Maybe even unify against Goulamirian. Any sort of activity for belts or top names would be better. I have a sneaky feeling he'd be facing Riakporhe with Sky though.

Riakporhe on Sky would be surely be his best risk/reward fight and he'd get maybe even a PPV fight after if he looks good.

I think at this point it’s unifications or heavyweight. Only possible exception is Richard riach if he got a real juicy offer, but I can’t see it.

I’ve thought that for a while honestly. Unify or fight a couple top 50 heavies and feel out the weight.

He’s backed himself into a corner so either needs to wait for his contract to finish, get Boxxer to buy him out or take his contractual fight minimum to fight with Matchroom.
