So Lerrone is fighting Zak Chelli next in a non title 10 rounder at the end of this month. He seems to be having a weird career and dropped the IBO belt. Allegedly he left Eddie after he wanted him to fight the guy Gongorra beat on a Canelo undercard. It seems weird as he would have got more money, kudos and exposure than fighting Chelli at the Ally Pally. Any idea what's going on with him?

Yep - then he jumped ship to Matchroom when they ordered his mandatory against Hutchinson and he vacated.

Lerrone seems like a really nice bloke but he’s got a style that isn’t going to make people pay to see him.

I can’t remember who said it but his best bet would be to keep active and get his way into a mandatory position. No one is going to pick him as an opponent as he’d be very tough to look good against.

His year with Matchroom was fine. A warm up fight, winning the European belt and then beating Gongora for the IBO. I think he was annoyed that he wasn’t out early 2022 and then when he was offered co-main on the Canelo/Golovkin card he turned it down partly because of that. Will be a big difference financially against Chelli compared to co-main on the Canelo show.

Boxxer will be good in keeping him active and hopefully they have some ideas for him. He’d be best off sticking with a promoter and letting it play out. Sometimes it just takes time, a bit of patience and the grass isn’t always greener. Bivol spent a few years defending his world title in soso fights and now he’s earning big and in most peoples top 5 Lb for Lb.

Have to wonder what Dave Coldwell is playing at in all of this. Always got plenty to say abouth things but should probably concentrate on his own fighters who always seem to fall well short.

Coldwell’s his trainer. He’s managed by S-Jam. S-Jam seem like a pretty fair management team so I’d imagine it’s more Lerrone thinking he’s bigger than he is and deserves better.

Fair enough. Point still stands about Coldwell. He will have valuable input into it all.

I rate Richards, he's a slippery customer and can go far, but he's a poor ticket seller and his style is a compete turn off. Not really what Boxxer need in their pursuit of trying to gain PPV stars.

It was a daft position. He would have got exposure and money from that fight.
