Dmitry Bivol vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez II - Who wins?
Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez II - Who wins?
I'm thinking if Bivol chooses to fight Canelo, it could almost be called a cherry pick.

At 175 with full rehydration, yes.
its obvious that they want to drag down Bivol to 168 reminding him that Canelo was generous to Bivol and gave him the great opportunity to shine and make big money.
Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez II - Who wins?
I think Canelo has the ability to do better, if not win. From an outsiders perspective, I think he’d do better if he jabbed and also didn’t load up on every punch. Remember, before Canelo got tired he was cutting of the ring and had the fleet footed Bivol in his punching range - that’s not an easy feat.
Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez II - Who wins?
fornicate that! Canelo didn't give Bivol any ",opportunity" other than make money What, $5 mil? Canelo challenged him, the chsmp at HIS weight. fornicate 168. Generous my ass. Canelo only looks out for Canelo.apollo creed wrote: ↑11 Nov 2022, 14:39![]()

Canelo will likely take on a tune-up in May before rematching Bivol in September 2023.
He probably wants to test his wrist, where he had his surgery on.

That's good. The rematch will have a bit of sense only after Bivol beats Bert. For now the undisputed bout is the most reasonable.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Nov 2022, 12:45 Canelo will likely take on a tune-up in May before rematching Bivol in September 2023.

I am wondering if he talk about Benavidez-Plant winner / Charlo type tune up, or Yildrim type tune upRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Nov 2022, 12:45 Canelo will likely take on a tune-up in May before rematching Bivol in September 2023.

He seems fixated on a rematch with Bivol but I kind of wish he had gone the route of facing Charlo and Benavidez instead (of Bivol and GGG3). Maybe he would have went 2-0 with that route. And Bivol would still be winning at 175.

Chances are Bivol will bypass June fight date and go into September negotiations for Canelo.
Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez II - Who wins?
He'll get a gift draw and make a trilogy.

Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez II - Who wins?
first fight was a total shutdown of canelo with his single 'powershot no matter where it lands' style.
I just can't see how canelo should emerge victorious in a rematch, legit. xcept by robbery.

Exactly why I fancy the draw and trilogy.adislav123 wrote: ↑10 Apr 2023, 06:50bivol won all 12 rounds in the first fight. let it be 10, give 2 to canelo if you're a hard core fan of his.
look what the scorecards read! pure and simple corruption.
When scoring Canelo fights (and certain other favourites) you have to score it as 3 judges...
1 A fair judge scoring what's happening in the ring.
2 One judge who isn't bent, but really loves Canelo's style and lazily follows the narrative that he's amazing
3 One judge who is definitely crooked, (or blind).
That way you end up with the "right" score - it worked very well for GGG trilogy and Lara.
But vs Bivol all 3 crooked !

Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez II - Who wins?
The good news about the rematch is that Canelo wants it at 175. But first lets see how Canelo will look against Ryder and then we will see what decision is Canelo taking.
I think if Canelo doesn't look top notch in his upcoming fight then I suspect that Charlo or Benavidez may be Canelo's backup plans and he'd probably forget about fighting at 175. Or maybe he'd try to drag down Bivol at 168?

Bivol wins, but Alvarez gets the decision.

That's how I expected the first fight to go.
Good thing Bivol dominated or it would've ended like the GGG fights.
Crazy to imagine that Canelo only needed to win 2 more rounds for a win.
Those corrupt judges are the only reason I don't want Bivol to fight Canelo again. Otherwise it would've been one more easy payday.
Charlo would actually be a safe Backup (if he still exists).
2 years out of the ring and never fought at 168 lbs.

“If that happens, I’ve said it before that I’m not 100% sure.”
“Why am i sceptical? To be honest, I don’t really understand why they would want to do it. I think that Canelo himself has that mentality that he really wants it, but from the sense that I get it just doesn’t make a lot of sense for them.”
“Bivol already beat him. He’s not as motivated and there’s not really that big of a challenge of him. So they have to meet certain terms that we’re asking for, and one of those terms right now is Bivol wants to fight him at 168.
First of all, it’s enticing for him [to have] all the titles on the line, and he doesn’t want anymore excuses. Because Canelo said after the last fight that he went up in weight, but he’s done that before.”

Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez II - Who wins?
Canelo vs bivol at 168 is the fight. But team canelo won’t want it cause if canelo loses at his optimum weight it kills his claim to top dawg. Loses at 175 they can just play it as “dared to dream”
Bivol vs canelo for 168 undisputed
Bivol vs Bert for 175 undisputed.
they’re the 2 fights I wanna see. ( I want biv vs Bert first, but if they both happen I’m happy)

Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez II - Who wins?
A big issue could be Bivol's inactivity since the last year which could add some ring rust to him. Its obvious that he doesn't want to risk a big payday rematch with Canelo but at least he could have taken a stay busy fight meanwhile.
at 168 I got Canelo
at 175 it really depends on the judges and the sharpness of Bivol but I think Bivol would beat Canelo again

Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez II - Who wins?
all that canelo has going for him in a rematch at whatever weight, will again be the judge goon squad.
i just don't get that canelo himself isn't fed up by the favoritism on a ridiculous scale for him by now.
it definitely stains what seems the most important for him if u can believe what he himself says: his legacy.
a rematch vs bivol at 168 would be nothing but a joke and if canelo really opts for it the joke would be on him.
dragging bivol in his mid thirties down to a weight he last time fought as a teenager is just disgusting.
but if canelo deems it necessary and bivol accepts for obvious reasons, bivol would make the weight and beat him again. 100 percent.
and the corrupted judges will again do their utmost to hand in 2 ridiculous cards in favour of canelo IF SOMEHOW POSSIBLE.

Pretty sure Bivol is the one wanting the rematch at 168. Canelo weirdly wants it at 175, IIRC.adislav123 wrote: ↑06 May 2023, 11:45 all that canelo has going for him in a rematch at whatever weight, will again be the judge goon squad.

If he loses, it won’t be at his weight.
If he loses at 168, then he will lose all his belts.
Re: Dmitry Bivol vs. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez II - Who wins?
Yep, he wants the pre-written excuse and something to fall back on if he loses. Doesn't want to go all in with his chips. The thing is, Bivol is the first opponent since Mayweather, and slightly GGG, who has bargaining power against Canelo in negotiations.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑07 May 2023, 05:14It’s not weird..Mexi-Box wrote: ↑07 May 2023, 01:22Pretty sure Bivol is the one wanting the rematch at 168. Is this fight going to happen? I think he feels like, what does he have to gain by defending vs Canelo again? The fight doesn't really warrant a rematch. On the other hand if he loses at 168, is he going to blame the weight cut? If he does, nobody will want to hear that. Is Bivol going to turn down the fight to make less vs a real 175 lber? He could end up losing to someone else, for less money.

I feel like Bivol just wants to be the best.
Beating canelo above his weight doesn’t secure that. Being undisputed at 168 gets him close. If he could go undisputed 168 and 175 at once… that’s history.
Fair enough too, I hope he sticks to it. Or makes canelo give him a silly split to do 175…. (Like 75-25 bivols way).
