No. Even late-era McCallum is still too dangerous to carry. Jones would've gotten him out of there if possible. It was still a great win for him.

Jones said years ago that the McCallum fight was a great learning curve for him. He obviously held him in high regard and rightly so

I doubt he carired him, moreso he respected him
