I don’t see that, if his opponent is anyone other than Usyk.
Or a fit Ruiz.
No such thing

I predicted an early ko win for Wardley :TU:

Nice scrap though

Biggest issue for both was chronic inactivity

Why can't these fighters get more fights in?

A boring fight. Two blobs were trading without much of clean shots and damage. An unimpressive win for Whyte, since he was labouring so much against Frankin, especially in the first half of the fight. Got to Franklin with a serious punch only on the last minute.

Has age caught up with him, or was he suffering from a lack of vitamins for this last couple of fights?

I strangely really enjoyed it. Perhaps it was because I was expecting it to be an easy win for Whyte.

Wardley vs Gorman was a fun brawl. Gorman is establishing himself as a gatekeeper for his rising countrymen.

Maybe not Joyce, bit risky IMO but then other two would be perfect

Povetkin was done when Whyte beat him.

I do, but he’d still wipe the floor with Whyte no bother

What so all Ruiz would have to do is knuckle down a bit and he’d win a rubber match with Joshua?

Okay.
Joshua had to box at range in a pretty plodding and negative performance to beat an obese Ruiz. It’s hardly an outlandish view that if Ruiz actually bothered his backside to get in shape (which he won’t) then he’d be perfectly capable of dealing with Joshua in a rubber match

Just watched the show.
Clear Whyte is barely running on fumes nowadays ... there were signs before Povetkin 1 that Whyte was declining .. Povetkin both showed that to be true and also disguised it in the rematch.

Really feel for Gorman, he boxed beautifully that first round and looked like he was going to make the most of Wardley's inexperience. Fabio's power changed all that though, it made the gulf in experience melt away. Hope Nathan carries on, he's great to watch. Big win for Wardley and let's see where he goes.

people critizising whyte for adjusting his guard to not get knocked out by an uppercut again is ridiculous.

the fight was close and objectively franklin edged it. but what other outcome did they expect in a close fight? none!

Franklin's team 3ven said that they can't and won't leave it to the judges. did they do that?

I don't think so. Franklin definitely has that phlegmatic approach to only really fully commit when put under pressure.

could whyte have done more than he did? no. he had his hands full, barely trying to match the younger, faster franklin punch for punch.

franklin could've stepped it up a notch, should've moved more and thrown a couple of hands more. It didn't seem franklin did really everything he could and he paid for it, as expected he got shat on, which everybody knew would happen in a somewhat close fight.

We will see Whyte fight again and again just like del boy cos £££££
It wasnt a vintage performance but I always find his fights tend to entertain - there is always the jeopardy of him being sparked or sparking his opponent .
It did seem to me there was a style change with Mcgirt that is taking time to try and absorb - lot of shelling up and being constantly told to jab which I dont recall was ever one of his strengths .
Pay day vs AJ next year is the obvious route for them both to regain momentum and big domestic fights generate more dosh .. I feel they both need an early Feb /March fight before coming together in the summer at a stadium .
But there is always the chance that Whyte selects the wrong opponent for the pre fight and gets popped .

There is no way Whyte won this fight. At best it was a draw but I had Franklin 115-113. Whyte by 4 rounds is a disgrace and Hearn’s comments are even worse the grubby bastard

AJ more or less said Franklin was there to make Whyte look good. I much prefer the truthful AJ.

Hope wardly defends the brittish a few times next year rather than seeking american has beens.

Dave Allen, Kash ali, soloman decres, frazer clark. that would be a nice busy 2023.

Hate seeing the brittish title wasted. If wardly were to fight someone actualy proper good then thats fine, but if he is fighting around brittish levle, do it in brittan for the brittish title...

There isn't a promoter on the planet who isn't biased towards his fighters. Eddie Hearn didn't invent favoritism.

Gorman v Wardley was fun, but I wonder if Gorman really has what it takes to make proper money in the sport, particularly with this crowded British HW scene. Very nice skills, but lacks the serious punch resistance needed to win HW titles, and doesn't have the conditioning to hit and move.

Problem with no big rounds for Franklin it was easy for the judges to keep giving Whyte rounds but when one gives a draw and the others 116-112 then somethings wrong as no way did Whyte win by that margin.
Thought the Gorman Wardley was enjoyable but Gorman just seemed to give up, there was no reason for the towel to come in at that point.

DAZN had another small hall show from Canada last night, unbeaten Lucas Bahdi beat Diego Andrade Chavez on points over 8 rounds, dominant win, Chavez tough never been stopped, been the distance with Archie Sharp and Bryan Acosta, Bahdi rocked him with a right then a left in the last round, wins a UD and moves to 13-0 with 11 early
