Only movers at those weight classes were Roberto Duran's problem.

John "The Beast" Mugabi was perfect for a guy like Roberto Duran. Duran would kick his ass....bad!

I am talking about the Duran that destroyed Davey Moore

It depends on when we do the matchup. In 1985 and '86 Duran was kinda living the high life, and not really on point the way he'd been. Mugabi was peaking a a fighter during that time, and if it's the Mugabi that fought Hagler for the title. He may well be too much for the smaller Duran.

However, fast forward a few years when Duran got a reinvigorated energy and Mugabi had began to slip and I'd favor Duran to break down Mugabi and either stop him late or win a decision.

In a scenario where both would be at their very best. I'd favor Duran, but it'd be a hard struggle because Mugabi was tough and the bigger man.

The Hands of Stone would tame "The Beast" at both weights with Duran stopping Mugabi in late rounds at 154lbs and decision him at 160lbs.

That didn't happen at 147lbs.

That's the way I see it. It has to be a well conditioned and motivated Duran, though. Any other version like when he fought Kirkland Laing or the great Wilfred Benitez and he would get destroyed by The Beast.
