If they were both in they're respective primes, in the 1980's, when heavyweight was 190+ would be an ideal scenario.
Rocky in that era probably would've been fluctuating back and forth, cruiser to heavyweight, depending on the specific prospective bout/ high financial gain bout.

Rocky would likely weigh around 193-195 versus Tua. He weighed 188 versus Moore, so not a huge bulk-up at all really.
Remember, Roy Jones Jr weighed in at 193 in the 2003 John Ruiz bout, and Mike Spinks weighed 197 in the first bout versus Holmes in 1985. Also, of course, Tua was only 5'10. Bonevena was that height as well. Rocky was 5'10-1/2. Frazier was 5'11.
Rocky had a Very Big Bone structure. His wrists were either 8 or 9 inches around. That's basically an average size for a common athletic 6'3 230 lb'er.

I think that this bout would've been 50-50 the more I analyze it. In the past I've favored Tua, but my mind has changed over the last year or so. This bout would Definitely be Very winnable for Rocky, providing he fights the right specific way. Otherwise it's also a very loseable bout. Rocky is the better skilled boxer overall. Tua is stronger, but not by that much.
If I were to wager a bet, it'd only be a very minimal amount. Maybe 10 U.S Dollars, that Rocky fights the right way and grinds out a fairly decisive points win.

I thought the same and Tua fell in love with his best punch the left hook that Marciano would most likely to dodge, bob and weave to land big body shots and left-right to the head to take a decision over the iron chin Tua.
