You might be thinking of Mike Weaver over John Tate?
Chavez and Taylor.
Yes, good call...I was thinking of heavyweights.
Yeah Chavez is the one I was thinking of

What is a SUPER casual? :D

I don't know man, Del really deserves this. He's the one who went through it all.

I'm reading that end of R1 bell was rang 8 secs early ?! :oo

THAT is more terrible than the stoppage if true. Did anyone see it ? I didn't notice @ the time. :maybe:

Im not sure if DDD was going to make that count if the bell didnt go early. Looked like he had decided to stay down then heard the bell and thought, shit ill get up see how i feel in 60 seconds.

I don't think so but not sure. I remember Harold Ledermans speech on pre fight rules because I used to watch tons of HBO fights and still watch the old HBO broadcasts.

Lampley: "Here are the rules of the bout with our unofficial ringside scorer.. Harold Lederman"

Lampley: "OK Jim. This fight is scheduled for twelve rounds using the unified rules of the association of boxing commissions. There is NO three knockdown rule. In case of a cut caused by an accidental butt we go to the scorecards after the four rounds have been completed. And you cannot be saved by the bell in any round, including the 12th and final round. JIM!!!"

bell went about 8-10 seconds early. Count ended with 5 seconds to go..

So, the reality is a punch wouldent of been thrown at the end of the round, because the ref would of asked him to walk left and walk right and that takes 5 seconds....

But, i dont know if DDD would of stood up if he hadent heard the bell. looked done with it.

Lerena wasn’t exactly chasing after Dubois like a man possessed. I don’t think the early bell made a scrap of difference personally.

Dubois was about to quit. Whether people think it made a difference or not, it is as clear of a case of corruption as can be.

Well maybe he was. But that outcome was hardly going to benefit either fighter.

It continued and Dubois punched through the guy as he was supposed to. It’s a satisfactory result.

Not if you dislike corruption.

But we're on a British boxing forum. Corruption is ok as long as it favours the Brit...

It was scummy conduct as far as I'm concerned.

Ha well when you say it like that… But a hollow victory it would have been for Lerena. Hardly proof of anything.

Derreck needs to risk point deductions here. Normal clinch needs to loop behind the ear/back of head. If fury gets his head under his arm and pushes him down chizzy needs to nut shot him. gotta make it grubby.
