Suggestions for Huni's next opponent

Post by ninetypercent »

I rate Huni but if he is really going to be significant on the world Heavyweight scene I think he needs to step up his opposition. I reckon if Chisora doesn't retire he would be a good opponent.

Not the most heavy handed or skilled Heavyweight but has a really high name recognition with the casuals. I think you could fill a large venue in QLD with that fight.

Not clear who would win so probably won't happen.

he's only 23 and 7 fights in so no need to rush, last fight shows he needs some work still rather than being ready for a massive step up

think it should be a more gradual step, someone like gerald washington, maybe johnny rice. tbh, even a few more fights at the highest level he's already fought would okay, still needs to learn to settle down a bit more. he boxed smoother in the ams but forces things sometimes in the pro

Seems to me he's trying to develp power and forcing it a bit,,, needs a couple more years to fill out and develop only 23 , you don't want another Hughie Fury on your hands ,, I think the states would be a good fit for him , like Robbie Pedan

I think just poke him along steady. Maybe Nathan Gorman who’s 19-2. Fabio Wardley beat Gorman and is 15-0 and rated higher so that would be a step up. But I don’t think there’s any need to rush him.

-Next opponent i think Kris Terzievski, Decent record, aus champ, and dosent seem ungodly tough so shouldent smash up hunis hands.

-After that i think lucus brown (if he beats char in December), Gotta get that fight while brown is on a high, browns old but it would still be a marketable fight, good boxrec points, and a WBA top 10 ranking....

Then after that just start plowing through any of these guys you can get....(not in order)
-Dempsy Mckean
-sokoloski
-Fa or Hemi (once there back in the wins.)
-Dave Allen
-Takem
-Kash ali
-hammer
-wach
-Joey Dawejko
-Rice
-Forrest
-kuzman
-Big baby miller (with lost of drug testing)
-washington
-trev bryant
-kownaki
-tom shwarz

The main thing for Huni is he needs to learn to relax. and take a bit of his shots rather than force power shots that arnt there, because if he keeps fuking his hands his carrer will be over befor it starts. I think he beats all the guys listed above, but id also be ok with him mixing in some easier nights work if it keeps him more active because 10 round wars are great experence, but you dont want to many. 4 in aus, 1 in uk, 1 in usa would be a great 2023 to aim for.
