Congratulations to Cletomex this years PTBF winner!
Nice pick on Joe Smith over Bernard Hopkins. Nearly everyone else was wrong about that one.

You had a perfect pick for Hopkins-Smith (the only person with a perfect pick) to end your year on a positive note.Tanzio wrote:All hail the 2016 champion!!![]()

Re: Congratulations to Cletomex this years PTBF winner!
Thanks everyone and thank you to JCS for running the best game in boxing. I hope you continue to run PTBF. I still remember wanting to play back in 2005/2006 and back then if you didn't pick the very first fight of the year.....then you were out the ENTIRE year and had to wait until the following year to play!!
Played this game with mediocre results (pitiful really) the last 10 years and finally put it together this year. I owe a lot to Carl Frampton and Jorge Linares as they were the two picks that set me up for the win.
I lost it at the end with these last 3 fights though with wrong picks on Lebedev and Cuellar which put me as a sitting duck with Turnip still having a 2x multiplier left. He should have had me. I didn't even have to pick the last fight as I knew Turnip would have ran up past me.....and I only picked Smith to hedge against HBG if he would have changed his pick from Hopkins to Smith during the last minute. If I would have had a comfortable lead I definitely planned on picking Hopkins so I don't deserve accolades for the Smith pick!

It's probably not the smartest thing to say out loud, but I've never changed my pick and I don't think I'll ever do it. ;) The only time I was thinking about it this season was Gassiev/Lebedev. I should have thought about it harder.cletomex wrote:Thanks everyone and thank you to JCS for running the best game in boxing. I hope you continue to run PTBF. Still, congratulations to a deserving winner. I'm looking forward to taking that spot back next year though.

Congratulations world champion Cletomax! And HBG & Turnipseed for place and show. This is not an easy contest to win and it's difficult to separate from the competition and stay separated. Much respect. And of course we thank JCS for his selflessness and generosity. Another enjoyable year.

Well played Sir!
I was gutted to just miss the top 10, so you should be very pleased to have won. Kudos!

Congrats to Cletomex

Re: Congratulations to Cletomex this years PTBF winner!
Well done again to Cletomex, and hbg. Had a pretty damn good second half of the season (19-2 I think) which got me close, though I didn't do well converting correct winner picks into perfect picks which probably cost me more than any one result in particular.
And hbg, how are you so good at this game? 4 seasons in and you've won once, got second twice and in the other got top ten - crazy.

I always forget to pick a handful of fights. What's the winner get?
Re: Congratulations to Cletomex this years PTBF winner!
Honestly, I have absolutely no idea. Considering my years following the sport I'm still a little child so it can't really be a knowledge thing. I just go with what my gut says after examining fighters records and/or recalling what I remember from watching them and that seems to work ok. :)HyacinthusTurnipseed wrote:And hbg, how are you so good at this game? 4 seasons in and you've won once, got second twice and in the other got top ten - crazy.

It amazes me how some people are amazing at this game. HBG is one and the greatest of all time to ever play......lvlarc.
