I could see Williams outboxing shavers using that excellent left Jab and movement. However if Shavers catches him, it would be good night. Of course, Williams' biggest liability was his chin.
Re: Earnie Shavers vs. Carl Williams
I thought the same as well. Williams could outbox Shavers like you mentioned, but if Shavers catch him with his devastating right hand, Williams would be on queer street and get knocks out cold worst than Tyson, Morrison and Weaver ever did imo.geoffreysadao wrote: ↑09 Dec 2022, 13:11 I could see Williams outboxing shavers using that excellent left Jab and movement. Re: Earnie Shavers vs. Carl Williams
Eventually Shavers lands a clean shot on Williams and takes him out.
This fight could end at any moment from 1st through the 12th but it will happen

Re: Earnie Shavers vs. Carl Williams
Williams was a much better boxer, but he remained weak-chinned and hittable, so it's hard to see Shavers not KOing Carl at some point.
Re: Earnie Shavers vs. Carl Williams
At some point, Carl will get caught by Earnie, probably around the 5th. And it will be done.

Re: Earnie Shavers vs. Carl Williams
Shavers would KO him 2/3 times. Williams may win 1 in 3 by decision if he is super careful.
Re: Earnie Shavers vs. Carl Williams
I could see Williams outpointing Shavers. Always the chance of a Shavers bomb though, not to be captain obvious.
Re: Earnie Shavers vs. Carl Williams
I have to go with Shavers. He'd be losing but at some point he takes Williams out.
