lopez shouldve been well ahead by the last 2, ya josh came on strong but it was only 2 big rounds for him at the end out of a 12 round fight. until the 10th or so i thought it was verging on a pasting, josh winning the last 2 only got him back to 116-112 for me

The guy was getting head butted every round, rabbit punched on the back of the head, full punched on the back of the head, had his cut rubbed by Warrington's hair bristle, forearms and elbows every round after the 3rd .
So you think that wasn't enough to complain about?. The ref did nothing . Lopez probably couldn't believe it, we can because Warrington is the A side and a dirty fighter allowed by hometown judging and referees to continue unabated.
What makes me laugh is it's not on the sly , it's there for all to see.

Lopez definitely got the nod! Every foul in the book save a low blow. Warrington's head didn't look sufficiently lubed this time, but fair play, he came back well later on.

He's the heart to not need any dirty stuff, and even suffers for it occasionally when he cuts a nice combo short to close the gap with a hard part. Nice to have a couple of reasonable cards for a change.

Don't care mate, hate fighters constantly moaning and complaining, even when justified , all Lopez done was stifle his own momentum

agree........also i imagine some judges score that against the whining fighter. it makes it look like the fouler has been effective, even if illegal.

I wasnt scoring. but. i think (trusting the memory here....)

I had josh winning the 9,11, 12. i think.
And i had no idea how to score round 1 or 2, so they could of gone either way.
then i think there were a couple of close rounds in the middle.

I think i had it 9-3 or 8-4 lopez, but, i didnt have lopez winning 7 clear round (enough for a certain victory). so for me it could (not should) of gone either way.

Thats just the judging side of things. On the reffing side of things i think Josh should of got a hard warning at the clash that caused lopezs cut. then i think he should of got a point 1 or 2 more times for just buldozing with the cranium.... could of got a hard warning and points on rabbit punches too.

main thing is,,,, Right man won. and im no judge (especialy when im not actualy judging).

It seems they have realized how frail Josh is now and how can he be problematic with him being foul, outside UK.

basically every fight you say this.....unless a guy batters the other you say the round could be either way or wasnt clear, and everything turns out to be justifiable, even though yourself say 'should not'. i think youre too lax

i wonder what the most fights in a row is for someone cutting their opponent with the head, josh done 3 straight and all within 2 rounds or less. the loss to lara really seems to have caused him to up the dirt

Vintage warrington .
as soon as it gets hard he gets clumsy with the forehead .
That was a really poor performance for a belt holder especially and he got exactly what he deserved - FA !

I predict retirement la la la la

The Cash fight was terrible and god knows what he was saying afterwards, can't see him doing much now.
The Bridges fight was embarrassing, in the old days the BBoC would have stopped all the adverts for porn sites on her as well as stripping off at weigh ins etc. Doesn't give boxing a good image when you have rubbish like that to try and sell tickets. If I can remember correctly the BBC once refused to screen a fight as someone had advertising on their shorts and now nobody cares.
At the end of the Warrington fight I was sure he would get it or a draw so it was good to see him lose, if he fights on there needs to be a strong referee to deduct points as soon as he starts with the headbutts as they're too obvious. If he can't fight without doing it then he shouldn't be boxing

Cash still giving the big one after that performance is actually far more impressive that they way he now seemingly fights.

Sean O Hagan is normally a bit more measured than he was afterwards last night, I get the disappointment of the loss but calling it a robbery was out of order particularly when the draw was given by the home judge.

CompuBox Stats

They’re creating a new column for rabbit punches and head butts.

They’re still counting them tbh.

Genuine shame him and his fans never got that big Vegas night when he was red hot. Could make the Leigh Wood fight happen though.

Not bad accuracy from Lopez considering it looked as if he was high on glue for pretty much most of the fight.

warrington was buckled with a jab in the 2nd and the 10th was probably his quietest round of the fight , before the big rally in 11 and 12. i dont know how anyone can give him those rounds, ive seen some 114-114 cards, including in here, and find it very generous tbh. lopez put it on him most of the fight and not even being in leeds was enough to save josh.

lopez-conlan being mentioned :bag:
