Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Why there is no update on John Riel Casimero and Ryo Akaho’s trending bout on december 3 ,2022 in Paradise City Casino in South Korea?

The "follow" feature is amazing! It's incredibly helpful. Is it possible to make it be unlimited or at least the limit increased by a lot, say up to 75-100? Thank you.

A new Forum category for social media ‘boxing’
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Not a bad idea. I'll add one. An option to subscribe to unsubscribe to the various forums.
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Screen fight searches. IE. Heavyweight, under age 30, 10 or more wins, no losses.

Do the first 4 rounds of the "Professional Officials" card seem wrong.. or is it just me?

One for the forum.
I probably create 99% of fight threads.
On fight week or a few days closer to the fight, some fights get lost, or multiple threads might get created.
We could always stick the topic at the top for the weekend or until the event is over.
Just an idea.

Main titles in the same line
Greetings... What do you think if in the "titles" section add an option with the 4 main titles together (WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO). See the results and programming of only these 4 titles on the same page.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
if you click on a fighter's record and then have the enter the captcha, once it's entered succesfully you should be taken right to the fighter's page. it's annoying to be taken to the home page and then have to research for them

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
How about a stat showing how many times a fighter was given a count in their career?
Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Provide a star rating for each fighter at the time of the bout instead of 1 combined bout rating...
Also, allow users to give bouts a star rating based on entertainment value

i think that cards for pro judges/refs/etc registered on boxrec who use the boxrec scoring app, not the actual fight judges. otherwise wouldnt all the fights with the 3 judges scores avialable have a 'professional officials' cardJCS wrote: ↑28 Dec 2022, 00:42Still broken, no?JCS wrote: ↑11 Nov 2022, 17:29 https://boxrec.com/en/scoring/2804145

4-0 bivol is okay, he should've been up at least 3-1

Oh wow, that's strange.. I thought it was a scorecard that showed how the majority scored each round.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑28 Dec 2022, 00:51i think that cards for pro judges/refs/etc registered on boxrec who use the boxrec scoring app, not the actual fight judges. otherwise wouldnt all the fights with the 3 judges scores avialable have a 'professional officials' cardJCS wrote: ↑28 Dec 2022, 00:42Still broken, no?JCS wrote: ↑11 Nov 2022, 17:29 https://boxrec.com/en/scoring/2804145

But you're right, I also noticed that not all fights have it...

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
the schedule page should start with fights on the actual day it is
the format for the date page is weird, it now just shows the event without any of the actual fights, it's much easier if it actually shows the bouts for each one on the same page

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Please consider adding a block on the main page where the most significant of the recently added fights will be placed, similar to the "Schedule" block. Something like "Last added fights". Thanks to this, it will be possible to learn about some interesting fights earlier. I apologize in advance if this has already been suggested before me.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Does anybody know how I can get the number of boxers by country?
I have a project for the National Science Foundation and decided to go with Boxing and MMA as my industry.
I tried using a upwork but they were charging $700 which is crazy since this information is for only one powerpoint slide lol
Would BoxRec have this information.
I've found the number of fighters and gyms in the USA and Cuba, everywhere else is pretty difficult.

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Hello John,
I just read all nine pages of this chaotic thread. I do not believe the thread is helping the site in its current form because
a) individual ideas are not tracked.
b) there appears to be no-one with authority responding to the individual ideas.
c) irrelevant posts are made.
Compare this to the forum discussing new features for the game Settlers of Catan at the colonist site.
https://colonist.featureupvote.com/?ord ... =#controls
There you have ideas being discussed and individual ideas can be upvoted. If you're unable to recreate such a format, then I think it would be much better to have a dedicated forum for suggestions, where individual threads can be made per idea, and discussed therein. A thread could be even closed, if a person in authority makes a decision.
This is my general post about suggestions in the next post I make some specific suggestions.
cheers

Re: Suggestions for BoxRec
Hi John,
here are some specific suggestions for the site.
1) Seeing the progression of the fighter's rating used to be possible when looking at their record. There was a pre-bout rating and a post-bout rating. This feature should be made available again, preferably by some sort of setting control.
2) The boxing ranks algorithm should be properly documented. The "read here first" link to the ratings algorithm contains probably about 10% of the information about the algorithm.
3) The p4p lists and the weight class lists should contain the rating numbers.
4) Initially, when the p4p list is displayed the weight class is listed. It would be nice if that was an active link to the respective ratings for that weight class. For example, where is says Tyson Fury, five star, heavy, that the "heavy" would be a hyperlink.
cheers
