Eubank Jr: "Golovkin number one because he has those middleweight belts and it's a fight that can and should be made"

Beyond the upcoming fight - Eubank wants to get in the ring with WBA, IBF, IBO middleweight champion Gennadiy Golovkin and undisputed super middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

"Golovkin number one because he has those middleweight belts and it's a fight that can and should be made," Eubank told Sky Sports.

They nearly fought in 2016, with a deal falling through - as Eubank was replaced in the fight by Kell Brook, who Golovkin stopped in five rounds.

If they come to the table for a second time, the British star does not expect Golovkin to walk away from the fight.

"I don't think that's going to happen. He's a prideful guy and he has the belts," Eubank said. "So he's never going to be the type of guy to just give them up. Someone's going to have to take them from him and that somebody is me. There's nobody else that people want to see him fight more than me. We have a long history. That fight could have been made a few years ago and it slipped through my fingers. :lol: :lol:

@B.S

41 y/o GGG is seen as a very valuable, high reward-decent risk type of fighter by these top 160 pounders. I mean Eubank Jr, Munguia and Charlo want GGG.

I don't know what G is planning but the wisest thing for him would be to have a last one in his country and then retire, letting these younger "stay safe" fighters to fight each other if they want.

I mean, G could make good money from fighting Mung, Jr and Charlo but what is the point of getting more damage and risk his health?!

Tbh I don't want to see an old GGG being pummeled by younger fighters.

Every Middleweight contender probably wants to fight Golovkin right now. Having a big win on your record always means good things for you in this sport, and getting a big win is a lot easier over a guy in his 40's.

As for Golovkin. I mean, it's his career he can go on as long as he wants. As of now I'm not afraid for his health or anything. He's not as good as he was, but he's certainly not shot either. He's still a very formidable fighter.

Indeed, risk vs reward, he is a very valuable scalp atm. Even the old - washed up Martinez wants a piece of GGG. I wonder if Sturm would want to fight G atm? I guess he'd want a good payday. :OhYes:
