You just validated my point, the more unsubstantiated insults you throw the more ignorant you sound. Clearly we should agree to disagree where Mr Farage is concerned.![]()

Good to see Conteh and even better to see him looking so well.
My father was a huge fan of John Conteh and got me into boxing off the back of watching his fights.

Re: John Conteh interview with Farage
There was a funny clip with Conteh and Ali going on about who was the better looking. Can't seem to find it though.
Conteh was the Haye of his day or vice-versa. Conteh vs Haye, who wins?

Haye would be too big for Conteh.
I vaguely remember the Ali/Conteh clip you're talking about.
Conteh was a handsome and flash playboy back in the day and Ali came over to England and they were on the same show and I think John started to rib Ali about him being better looking than Muhammad.

Ack. I always forget which one of them, Churchill or Thatcher, did that stirring "A few pints with the lads! Up the Ra!" speech? Given Thatcher's time in power, i'm edging towards Churchill.veriton wrote: ↑08 Jan 2023, 09:01A truly great Briton following in the tradition of Churchill and Thatcher. Discuss.

If Farage had ever became PM, I would move back to New Zealand. 24 carat pudendum. Farage, not me. I'm lovely really.

Without him, Brexit would never have happened. Since those who voted for brexit won the largest democratic vote in UK history then think quite a lot of people like him. Seems Conteh didn't mind meeting him either.

Without Cummings and Johnson, Brexit would of never of happened. They held a lot more power than Farage had or ever will.

I wish we could go back to the day and age when liberals and socialists like Walter Matthau and Kirk Douglas were in the military and were patriotic. Never quite heard those men complain and whine about things. They might have had passionate debates about the issues but they certainly didn't go on and on how they hated conservatives.
Re: John Conteh interview with Farage
a person doesn’t have to be a racist and / or a xenophobe to endorse Farage’s views but it certainly helps…
Re: John Conteh interview with Farage
Farage isn’t a conservative, he’s a racist, xenophobic, opportunistic grifting bigot who aims for the lowest common denominator on every occasion in order to stoke division for his own personal gain.HomicideHenry wrote: ↑10 Jan 2023, 14:26 I wish we could go back to the day and age when liberals and socialists like Walter Matthau and Kirk Douglas were in the military and were patriotic. In fact he's so racist and xenophobic he's having a chat with John Conteh, who seems to be enjoying it

Conteh didn't know who he was. He thought he was speaking to the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz.

Anyway, does anyone else agree that, with both at their best, Conteh beats Calzaghe.
