Re: Iain John Lewis
True, but according to the website they have three shows scheduled for 2023:
https://www.boxbiba.com/?page_id=9388
https://www.boxbiba.com/?page_id=9417
https://www.boxbiba.com/?page_id=9406
Surely IJL will pop up on of those?

Lee Murtagh does almost all the reffing, I doubt he will give his work away

Re: Iain John Lewis
I did think that when BIBA announced the signing of Lewis, Murtagh's been ruler of his own self created kingdom for a long time now, he won't like sharing the stage with a bigger name, but on the other hand Lewis won't be best pleased if he's kept idle.

Those 3 BIBA shows are truly horrific , how can anyone take them seriously!

IJL was on show in Worksop before Christmas , saw a picture with him having photos with a boxer in the ring afterwards , that would never happen on a BBBofC show , it was shocking really if they claim they’re a professional organisation .

Absolute shockers aren't they ?
The Blackpool one is worst of the lot, I've just checked and Ellis has been inactive since 2018, he's forty seven in April and he's been stopped thirteen times in his fourteen defeats, yet BIBA are willing to licence and promote him

Let’s all pray Matthew Ellis isn’t matched with Danny Williams for the BIBA world heavyweight title on PPV !!

I bet he's seen a big cut in his wages, so he's probably charging to have a picture taken with him.Floydendizer wrote: ↑06 Jan 2023, 17:37 IJL was on show in Worksop before Christmas , saw a picture with him having photos with a boxer in the ring afterwards , that would never happen on a BBBofC show , it was shocking really if they claim they’re a professional organisation .

Ellis will be rusty but like Foreman, fresh for an older guy. The former amateur sensation shows his true promise as he outfights and outslicks Williams, stopping the former Tyson conqueror in 6. Mathew declares he will be the oldest billion dollar athlete ever and calls out Usyk, Joshua and Fury.1143850 wrote: ↑06 Jan 2023, 17:59Please don'tFloydendizer wrote: ↑06 Jan 2023, 17:54 Let’s all pray Matthew Ellis isn’t matched with Danny Williams for the BIBA world heavyweight title on PPV !!![]()

"And Fury bottles it." Re: Iain John Lewis
It might be a daft question, but what is he suing for? Presumably the BBBoC will say that his performances weren't up to scratch and therefore he got demoted.
Surely in any work place, you fail to perform, you either get binned off or downgraded? Or am I being too simplistic?!

He might have been warned after the horrific card he produced after the first yarde / Arthur fight !
Re: Iain John Lewis
Didnt realise JL 61, hes only got 4 years lef anyway even if he were to come back.
BBBOC probably the least diverse company in the UK all referees are all white and no females. Jeff hinds right to feel peed off never getting A star while Oconnor and JL go made A star years ago.

I think he might be going down the race route. Don’t know for definite but both him and Jeff Hinds have cases going and I listened to an interview with Johnny Nelson who implied they were going down this route.milpool wrote: ↑09 Jan 2023, 13:45 It might be a daft question, but what is he suing for? I don’t know much about the reasons Jeff Hinds is pursuing case but you’d imagine they have enough to warrant the removal of his A star class status on IJL.

Re: Iain John Lewis
If you employed are in a skilled profession, you also get trained, year-on-year, to keep your skills up. If you are underperforming in a such a profession, you are given training/assistance to help you improve, and only demoted/sacked after that. I don't know what he is actually arguing, and appreciate he is not in fact an employee, but independent contractors have been successful in recent years in arguing that a relationship akin to employment exists (e.g. gig economy cases involving certain taxi apps), so he may be going down that route if he feels he was not given support to improve first. He's unlikely to win a case by arguing/alleging others were just as bad. But the repeated mantra "A honest decision is a good decision" could well help him - that is not a throwaway line by the BBBofC, as another poster suggested in response to my earlier post, but one that seems to have existed at the top of the BBBofC for many decades. For example, Harry Gibbs refers in his autobiography to being told exactly that, and he started reffing in the 1950s.milpool wrote: ↑09 Jan 2023, 13:45 It might be a daft question, but what is he suing for? I hope IJL isn't using the same lawyer that BIBA are using to bring down the BBBoC, that guy is taking his fqing time

I'd hazard a guess that IJL wasn't in the core group of the old mans club.
