Heavyweights: George Foreman vs. Marvis Frazier

10, 12 or 15 rounds Heavyweight Bout

Young prime Foreman would knock Smokin' Joe's son in the first round the same round that Holmes and Tyson stop him. The comeback old Foreman would knock Marvis out either 2 or 3 rounds. What do you guys think and who do you got?

Actually it wouldn't, but only because Joe was tough enough to keep standing up and taking more beating.

Marvis would be done inside 40 seconds. I can't see any way around it. Unless he just ran as blatantly as one can, and that wasn't his style.

Pretty much agree with everyone; at least regarding a prime Foreman. That certainly would not have lasted long.

The old Foreman that made a comeback? That might be different. He wasn't as able to be as aggressive, and usually could not follow up right away when he hurt the other guy.
The old Foreman usually wasn't able to put away an opponent right away.

I know when we think of Marvis Frazier, we think of the Tyson and Holmes fights. But he did beat Tillis and Bonecrusher; so it wasn't alike he was a complete stiff. This would probably take the old Foreman some time.

I'd back Prime Ali, prime Liston, maybe Holmes.
Not many others and none immediately spring to mind.

Lennox stands a chance. Holyfield or Bowe stand a chance.

But yeah, it'd take the cream of the crop to stand up to Prime George.

I also wonder if a defensive guy could just have him punch himself out, like say a Gene Tunney? Probably not, but it's not impossible I guess.

But yeah Prime George is a handful for anyone no doubt about it.

I considered Lewis and Bowe. Both great fighters but I see issues.

Lennox may not be able to survive a clean power punch by Foreman. He'd have to be perfect against a man with huge power, a good jab and a serious chin.

Bowe has a better chance I feel. He has superb skills (at did LL) and heart but Bowe was easy-ish to tag. How many power shots from Foreman can anyone take?

Both offer a real challenge for sure, but I may favour GF 55/45.
