Wilder has a history of destroying shorter fighters. You need to a taller size heavyweight to trouble him. I think he will find a comfortable range and throw bombs until Ruiz is knocked out.

That's a good point. I could see it resembling Wilder vs. Stiverne #1. Ruiz has a good chin so I don't think he'll got KOed.marvelous marv wrote: ↑13 Jan 2023, 17:33 Wilder has a history of destroying shorter fighters. stiverne is the only notable opponent he's fought in the 6'0-6'2 range and he's also the decision on wilder's record. if we go back further he was dropped hard by 6'2 sconiers, ko'd by 6 foot romanov
i expect long don to win but there's not much of a history of him destroying short guys anymore than he does others

What weight loss?
He was 256lb when he lost a razor thin (and dubious) decision to Joseph Parker
He was 268lb when he KO'd Joshua
He was 283.5lb when he lost to Joshua
He was 256lb when he beat Arreola
He was 269lb when he beat Ortiz
The guy has been obese for every fight of his career. He had generally looked best at around 255lb, but his best fighting weight could well be sub 220lb for all we know.

Re: Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr Who will win?
I don't think that applies to all short heavyweight, but I do see some similarities between Ruiz and Stiverne. Stiverne probably had a bit more power, but they're similarly sized, both with slow feet and poor stamina. Ruiz has much faster hands, but that may not matter if Wilder can keep him on the outside.marvelous marv wrote: ↑13 Jan 2023, 17:33 Wilder has a history of destroying shorter fighters. I am 100% certain that Wilder will knock out Ruiz.
Andy is easy to hit. He doesn't have a bad chin, but Wilder has tremendous one-punch power. Ruiz will likely not be stopped by the first big punch like Helenius was, but he won't be able to withstand a series of those punches.

Potential spanner in the works here...
More money facing Wilder and it's an in-house PBC fight but this would technically, whether you agree with it or not, allow Ruiz to be a two time champ.

It's like most of the handful of fights Wilder has had against opponents with a pulse: he's likely the less talented of the two but has the power to score the win. I'm going to make the safest prediction ever, and say Wilder gets a TKO late in the fight while behind on the cards.

Deontay Wilder: "Andy Ruiz Doesn't Have Enough To Beat Me!"
Speaking to Elie Seckbach of ESNews, Wilder said, “Joshua doesn’t want to fight me; it’s plain and clear. I don’t know why people keep asking about that. Everybody should’ve known when the $50 million was offered, and he didn’t take it. Even moving forward, Joshua doesn’t want to fight. They should have known then there was something fishy about it.”
“Andy is a good fighter. I like his speed, his willingness, and his bravery, but it’s not going to be enough for me, though,” said Wilder.
“He’s going to have to put an extra recipe on top of everything I named. He’s going to have to put some more on it because I am the man. I am that man. That’s why they fear me. Do you understand? With me, you’re going to need extra help, and I’m not just talking about you by yourself.”

Now I want the fight to happen and I hope that Andy Ruiz knocks his ass out because this man is delusional thinking he can't lose unless somebody cheated.

Deontay Wilder: "I was hand selected in my mother’s womb"
Over the weekend, Wilder’s comments of ‘entering back into his own world soon’ made for dumbfounding reading.
“I hate when I can’t lower the levels of my mind volume makes my head hurt,” stated Wilder.
“The more time you spend with yourself, the more you learn about yourself. It’s like driving a car. The more you drive, the more you learn,” he added.
On his conduct of late, Wilder stated: “I just got a lot to say right now, so excuse my behavior. I’ll enter back into my world soon.”
Prolonging his offer of ‘Wilder wisdom,’ the explosive puncher continued: “Love and being in love are two different things. I love you [equals] I’ll do anything for you but to a certain extent.
“I’m in love with you [equals]. There’s nothing I won’t do. I had to redo, sorry.”
Wilder then seems to be addressing a female through his social account.
“Hey, Baby, mistakes are common. It’s okay to make them. What’s important is what you learn from it. I Love you. Bye. – Champ.
“What’s understood doesn’t have to be explained. Very Misunderstood. I’m Different.
“Fun Fact: I’m an empath,” he clarified.
Hand selected
In other posts, Wilder said: “Caution. A Drunk person or A mad/hurt person will tell you the whole truth, listen but be careful, for you might not like what you hear.
“I stay under attack because I have that light. I was chosen. But I didn’t ask for this, but for much is given, much is required.
“I was hand selected in my mother’s womb. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.”
Fans don’t know what to make of Wilder’s consistent want to post whatever is in his head. It’s only adding to a recent interview where he told Andy Ruiz Jr. he’d need steroids to beat him.
An announcement on his next fight against Ruiz has been due for weeks.

I truly believe, that in Wilder's head, all this crap makes 100% sense.
100% in his mind, he knows what he's talking about.
Only HE knows. No one else has a scooby.

So are they making this fight or not ?
Good job Ruiz doesn't have a weight limit he's got to make, he'd eat the cheese out of a mousetrap that one.

I reckon it’s gna be announced soon.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. | PPV - Who wins?
It's a good match up if the truth is told.
Wilder would likely come in favourite, but the longer it goes the more Ruiz's power could become an important factor in the outcome.
This fight would draw a lot of attention especially if it were promoted correctly.

Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. | PPV - Who wins?
It'd be a big win for either one of 'em for sure. Wilder could use a few more noteworthy wins on his record. Even though Ruiz is not necessarily the biggest name, he's a former Heavyweight Champion, and would be arguably the biggest win on Wilder's record.
If Ruiz beat Wilder it'd obviously be his biggest win other than AJ, and I'd say it's just as big as AJ if not for the fact that no title would be on the line.
