Hearn Says He Regrets Speaking to Media Immediately After Benn Drug Test Leak
“I think probably the moment where, during that situation—the only time we were at fault in that situation was the moment we were told that the Board wouldn’t sanction that fight,” Hearn told iFL TV. “It was the few hours after when our heads went a little bit to think, ‘we’ve been f---ed here.’ You’ve (the BBBofC) had this (information of Benn’s positive drug test) for nearly a month and now you want to make this decision, you want to leak something to the press and it was ego. You know, it was a mistake to even address the media at the workout and say, ‘hang on, we want to speak to our lawyers, we want to speak to the Board.’
“But it was just, yeah, it was handled so badly by situations out of our control. People will say [differently], but it was. We are guided by the governing body and we waited on that decision and when it came I probably regretted addressing the media straightaway, you know, when we went to the workout.”
“But you’re thinking on your feet,” Hearn continued. “You got to understand you’ve had this situation, you’re waiting on a decision from the British Boxing Board of Control and you get the decision literally as you’re driving to the workout and you have a decision to make at that moment. The undercard are working out. Conor Benn and Chris Eubank are on their way to the workout. What — do you pull the workout? No, you proceed with the workout. We’re going to deal with this. We’re going to speak to our lawyers, we’re going to speak to our teams, and probably those few hours, I would say, were probably a mistake.”
“On reflection, after a couple of hours, when we sat down, and we went back to Wasserman’s office and we talked it through with Kalle and we looked at the various options that we had, we said, ‘No, we have to abide by the governing body and we will not be doing this fight,’” Hearn said. “Probably those hours before were a mistake.”

It’s a fair point, as we said on here at the time. What the fvck were the Board doing during all of this?

There’s a lot wrong in him saying this.
His boxer is pissing hot and he’s trying to cover it.
As much as I wanted to see the fight, I’m glad it all came out whenever it did.

Feeling quite confident in a Liam Smith victory. He’s performed at a higher level and beaten better fighters.
Eubank’s lost the biggest fights of his career against Groves & Saunders and only beaten washed up veterans. The exception being Liam Williams, who Smith also beat.
Eubank backers will argue he disposed of Williams easily in comparison, dropping him multiple times. But aside from the knockdowns, I thought it was a pretty ordinary display by Eubank and coasted the second half of the fight / was outworked, depending on what narrative you prefer.
Overall, I think Smith will outwork and outlast Eubank and I can’t see Eubank possessing enough pop to make a dent in him. Eubank’s career has ultimately been a let down - Smith will rubberstamp that on Saturday.

Just hope he doesn't get screwed on the cards. Can't see either getting stopped, so it's a worry.

Ricky Hatton reveals texts from Conor Benn as contender promises ‘good news coming’ amid hearing over positive drugs tests
Hatton told Mega Casino: “I spoke to Conor by text a few weeks back.
“He said, ‘Hopefully we’ve got some good news coming through that’s going to clear my name. And it’s been a long time coming.’
“He said, ‘I’m a champion, Rick, like my dad was. We’re fighting people, aren’t we? And it’s been very, very hard for me.’
“But he said, ‘I’m just around the corner now of clearing my name.’
“So, I went, ‘Oh, great. I’ll be made up for you, Conor, when you get that done.’
“So, if I’m listening right, it’s only hopefully a matter of time before Conor can clear his name and we can get the ball rolling again.
“Because obviously he was probably the most exciting talent coming through in British boxing, his fights were so explosive just like his dad, like a throw throwback of his old man.
“And it was lovely seeing him improve.
“It’s a shame that stumbling block, but you know, you’re innocent until proven guilty.
“He has been proven guilty, but he believes he can prove his innocence.
“So, let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and then he can move on with his career then.
“Yeah, it would be great to see Conor back.”

Frazer Clarkes opponent is embarrassing by even his standards. A tomatoe can Argie - surely he can't be happy with his progression. He isn't getting any young and these type of opponents isn't helping his career at all.

Eubank Says Benn No Longer Has Leverage, Calls for 'No Rehydration Limits … No 50% Splits'
Yeah, the fight is twice as big,” Eubank told The Guardian’s Donald McRae. “We would need a stadium with 60,000 instead of the O2. Does he deserve that kind of payday after being caught with illegal substances? Probably not. But it doesn’t mean I’m going to give up that payday.
“And, now, it’s personal. It’s not just about upholding the family legacy. I now actually don’t like this kid. He’s done wrong by me. So he’s lost all his privileges and bartering power. There are no weight clauses now. There are no rehydration limits. There are no 50% splits. Everything’s in my court now. I’m the only fight people want to see him in.”

Harley Benn defends brother Conor: "I know my brother and I know he's not a drugs cheat"
He commented in the interview that, "I always knew that it wasn't what people were saying it was, and the public and this and that. Unfortunately, it took science this long to prove whatever.
"I'm just waiting to see myself, I don't know too much about the situation. I'm not gonna comment on the situation. All I'm saying is I know my brother and I know he's not a drugs cheat.
"I just wanna see Conor Benn back in the ring, name cleared, ready to go. He's a young man, the world at his feet; and he deserves to be able to clear his name and get back on with his career.
He casually added, "I wanna see him smash up Eubank!"
