No, he is very devout, I have been with him when he has broken off what he was doing so he didn't miss a prayer. Whatever you might say about his boxing, Danny is a good Muslim and in my opinion a thoroughly decent man.

I've never heard anyone say a bad word about Danny outside of the ring, but inside it sadly more and more often he's drawing criticism. Danny is shortchanging the public lately, and that's a shame. After beating Tyson and even after the hammering from Klitchsko there was a lot of public affection towards Danny, even the American press seemed to take to him before the Klitchsko fight. Danny gets a lot more TV exposure than most fighters could dream of, especially when you consider how patchy his performances are, and yet he just doesn't seem to be getting right mentally and physically any more. I don't know the man personally, but it's hard to see what other than money could be motivating him to continue boxing, because his approach doesn't seem conducive to someone who really sees much future in their career.
No knock on Skelton, who is an overachiever given his late start in boxing, but Danny should never have struggled against someone of Matt's limited skillset and had he turned up in proper shape rather than like an entrant for world strongest man, I doubt he would have.
