Valdez is definitely the #1 name on Monzon's record.

Benvenuti and Griffith are more decorated historically, but Griffith in particular was long in the tooth by the time he got to Monzon.

Valdez was a big, strong puncher in his prime. He was Monzon's peer.

Or you could make it Lamotta, Basilio and Fullmer.

Hell of a Middleweight list for Robinson.

He's hard to beat in this category.

Greb has Mickey Walker (official), Mike Gibbons (Newspaper), Leo Houck (Newspaper)

It's unfortunate that the era of No Decisions rendered the Newspaper as the only official result other than a KO for the most part.

Even so though. The bulk of Greb's biggest wins are as a Light Heavyweight. Usually barely over the Middleweight limit mind you, but as we all know. If you're over by even a half pound. You ain't a Middleweight in that fight.

And on that note The Light Heavyweight thread probably needs revisiting with Greb in mind.

He was but he still put up a heck of a fight, twice. Might have been Monzon's toughest opponent after Valdez. Amazing to think he almost won another belt three years later when he was 38. A legend
