After my recent divorce, I have also thought the same.

60% of gay couples don't have penetrative sex. I'm just throwing that out there.

Probably a higher percentage for straight couples after they get married

1. This is a sport where people punch other in the head, so why take offence at a homophobic slur?

How can you conflate these two issues? Two people have jointly consented to take part in a sporting event with known dangers. What’s that got to do with berating someone on their sexuality?

2. It’s just Liam being childish / Its banter.

It’s childish, homophobic banter.

3. It’s not homophonic to ask someone if they are gay.

It is if you using it to try and belittle them.
