A bloated-juiced up Conor would've KTFO'ed a drained Jr too. Jr should just get rid of RJJr , hire a proper trainer like Robert McCracken, a good nutritionist and then try to rematch Beefy. Or maybe retire.

Also cutting down muscle mass is very dangerous. Bivol should just be very aware of that if he wants to fight Canelo at 168.

Eubank Sr was right about the weight draining concerns.

Chris Jr didn't look right at all last night.

He looked thin, he looked weak and even worse he looked disinterested.

To cap it off that new Roy Jones Jr style that he seemed to be developing looked ridiculous.

This must be the shocker of the year so far.

That massive muscle mass weight cutting for the fight with Conor, plus the showboating RJJ's style and that he was still compete at 160 lbs cutting muscle mass took a big toll on Eubank jr.

“It's a dangerous fight because Benn's coming up in weight and we are not, we're going down. But Golovkin would be a better fight because we've got more to prove and more to gain than in the Benn fight. I know Chris has the tools to beat Golovkin. I always prefer fights like Golovkin where people think we can't win, the 50-50 fights, those are the fights where you make a splash." RJJr said. Published Sat Jan 21, 2023 on B.S

:oo :oo

Now it should be GGG vs Liam Smith :OhYes: :box:

When I saw him on the scales I thought he looked like he couldn't have lost another ounce, he's know for a rock solid chin, must have affected him badly

Or the elbow to the head is what did it.

Punches are harder than elbows more than likely

Agreed.

Roy Jones Jr is not a good advert for weight cutting; look what happened to him when he did just that?

He went from virtual invincibility for over 10 years to a a massive mortal overnight.

As for the original point, yes, GGG would have marmalised Eubank Jr back in '16; probably still does it now despite being faded.

yeah, his chin was good and even Carl 80k Cobra Froch said it. They have sparred together.

Actually Jr's best fights were at 168. He should've stayed there.

I don't understand what people expect from Eubank Jr?
He is proven to be a sub British level fighter- 3 times now.
Forget the name he inherited, forget the careful matchmaking, just look at the actual names he has fought- he has lost to all of them.
Sure he won the Degale fight, but that was the ghost of Degale, not the former world champ Degale

Probably they have an obsolete way of training. You can't keep cut down muscle mass after a certain age. I guess they didn't want to spend more money on a proper known trainer, a good nutritionist and a boxing strength and conditioning coach.

Well, yes you are right. His resume speaks for itself but the thing is Jr was considered to have a strong chin and he was stopped in 4 rds by a 34 y/o british domestic level , former 154 pounder. Of course this is boxing and anything can happen.

Can't say fairer than that.

Eubank has got by on his surname and his prolific social media endeavours; take one or both of those away and he would have faded into obscurity years ago.

Happened all of a sudden.
Uppercut was enough to stop the fight I guess.
Rematch based off the 1st boxer to stop Eubank Jr.
