Boxing fans have got to be the most ungrateful of all sports fans that there is with absolutely no loyalty and absolutely no real objectivity. The tribalism among boxing fans is so blatantly obvious it makes football and baseball and basketball fans look like choir boys in comparison.

It's common knowledge that this website is so anti Tyson Fury that even Tyson Fury himself laughs whenever BoxRec is mentioned because it's not a respectable source anymore and hasn't been for a long time. After all every other boxing syndication in the world rated Tyson Fury as number one including the WBC, when he was talking about retirement. But this website jumped the gun on it because so many people here detest Tyson Fury even though he never did the official paperwork to retire.

Without fail every time there is a fight on the horizon concerning Tyson Fury it is mostly made up of people complaining or hating on the man wishing for him to lose and then after he wins they either go completely quiet or they pretend that they were happy to be proven wrong.

I've said in the past that the Ukrainian will be the toughest test for Tyson Fury at least on paper since Vladimir Klitschko. But the hype on the former cruiserweight champion whose only claim to fame at heavyweight is dethroning a muscle bound emotionally fragile champion who previously lost before with the grace and mobility of a skyscraper, is pretty ridiculous.
So winning all 4 versions of the CW titles as the away fighter isn't an achievement, people loved Fury when he came back and fought against Wilder, it was an amazing achievement. However he just talks complete bollox constantly now, can't you see that is why people have gone off him.

IF AJ fight is on ppv that is just wrong. lost 3 out of last 5 against an relatively unheard fighter that lost to Dillian. Hearn schedule is not looking good and if AJ is ppv that will annoy fans even more. Boxing is wrecking my head at the moment.

Great fight on Saturday night all the same on regular TV, Well donr

Maybe so but ultimately you guys are at fault for that because you were so willing to fork out your dollars for people these promotions made into brands. You're not buying a boxing match anymore you are giving money to a brand.

The one drawback to boxing is that the fighters have made themselves into brands, which is why the money is more astronomical than ever before. This is not an age of fighters but an age of businessmen who put on boxing gloves once or twice a year.

Do not be surprised if the Anthony Joshua tune-up fight will cost nearly £30 because the British public time and time again have proven that they are willing to pay out any kind of money just to see Joshua even if he is tainted goods. And they know you guys are gullible enough to pay for it.

As big a fan as I am of Tyson Fury I did not buy the Whyte bout or the Chisora bout because I already knew that it was not going to be competitive and to my mind some fights should not be pay-per-view but rather network television.

Besides in this day and age why pay for anything when you can get the match for free almost immediately after it's over with anyways? Or watch it live for free on one of the major streaming services even though they are illegal?

Furthermore the way I look at it you guys who buy DAZN or these other sports packages was sold a false bill of goods because they hoodwinked to you into thinking you were getting one thing when you had to pay for extras.

This one is happening. Biggest heavyweight fight possible right now and the Saudi will be keen to host it.

Just about sorting out the financials and dates I reckon.

Opportunity to milk a few rematches too.

About the AJ fight, Hearn will run the "many people had Franklin the winner against Whyte" and "still undefeated In many people eyes" lines locked and ready.

Just a thought. Isn’t Usyk doing exactly what Tyson was completely slated for? Trying to make a fight via social media. There’s hundreds of quotes saying how bad this is and it should be left to the teams. The general thought was it was a way of getting out of the fight.

I think it's pretty clear he's taking the piss out of how Fury has previously acted during negotiations for other fights/non-fights. He'll probably announce that he'll be donating his purse to charity soon.

So it’s ok for Usyk?
I also note nobody mentioned he looked about three stone lighter on that last picture of him than his fighting weight. Boxrec normally jumps all over that sort of thing.

Not really Mick. Bob said himself that Usyk has done his deal directly with Saudi and it’s up to Tyson to see if he can do the same.

Unless I’ve missed something Usyk also isn’t dropping any other names into the mix. The only boxer he’s talking about is Fury. Not Ngannu or anyone else. I also haven’t seen any deadlines being issued by Usyk.

Yeah, he's taking the piss and having fun with it, turning the tables on Fury. I'm finding it amusing, and so are a few others. If all the serious stuff is taken care of behind the scenes (It's already been reported Usyk's agreed his terms with the Saudis) then there's no harm in having some fun. Therein lies the difference, he's not actually making the fight via social media, it's being taken care of the proper way.
It's OK, we understand that you don't like it, and wouldn't expect anything less from you.

I'd give Usyk a pass., It's the first time he's really done that.

With Fury, it was more of a common thing.

But yeh, Bob is with Fury and he said Usyk's team have agreed their terms with the Saudi's.

Or perhaps this is part of the Ukrainian playing mind games because this is the most vocal I have ever seen Usyk. He goes from making videos eating hamburgers to making comments like this rather randomly. I think what it is is the Ukrainian is trying to take over the media narrative.
Usyk wants Fury too and then retire.

They're totally chalk and cheese, hes 36 now, world champ, Olympic champ, and only man ever to win 4 belt undisputed in cruiser and heavy.

Thats legacy

Retire unbeaten, only Fury standing in way, who has no interest in legacy, only money

He wont fight Usyk before Joshua

Totally agree. Fury is having his Riddick Bowe moment ( dumping his World title in the bin instead of facing Lennox Lewis). Fury has been backed into a corner by Uysk and clearly doesn't fancy it. I think that much must be obvious to even the most ardent Fury supporters.

Fury defeated Klit and Wilder at their backyards. He's more pretentious, yes. Yet he's the main attraction in the Usyk matchup.

I think a bit of perspective is needed for the Klitschko fight. Wladimir was old, had looked very poor in his fight before and Fury failed a PEDS test that year. I thought Fury boxed very well but surely there has to be an asterisk next to that win. (That being said, I wonder if most top athletes these days are enhanced in some way or other).

The Wilder fights were incredible though and to get off the floor and win twice ( the first fight was scored a draw but Fury won it) is incredible. Huge amount of character. And that's what I find so frustrating with his messing around now. If he has lost that competitive edge, then maybe it is a good time to bow out.

Yeah they all know age is a factor now also so the biggest retirement big money fights will definitely be taking priority now for wilder and fury especially

Imagine a joshua Fury trilogy maybe 4 or 5, eho knows if they're life and death classics??

Depending on how many you're talking 500million easy between them

Now who do ARUM andWARREN hate the most??.

And who do they both know is the big money retirement pot?? Certainly not Usyk

Could be 10× usyk fight easy money wise

Now as warren and arum hate hearn so much, do you really see them putting fury in against USYK??

There is no way they will risk losing top billing over eddie hearn, losing to usyk makes fury an equal to joshua

Keeping wbc, lineal nonesense makes sure theyre in control and eddie and joshua have to take scraps 75/25s 80/20s whatever you know they will milk it as much as possible

Usyk fight is too much of a risk for that. So expect sefer swarczh and David price type ducks, while WBC lets him keep belt hostage

Wlad had a relatively safe career because of his pragmatic style and the competition, which his era was able to suggest, so he had much more left in him in comparison to many fighters of his age. Not to forget, how he would perform in his next bout. He was a heavy favorite over Fury for a reason and got outboxed the single time in his career.

And the PED stuff is a separate profound subject. Usually I don't pay attention to those failed tests, because "All of them on steroids", like a one wise man said. Vitali failed a PED test even while being in the amateurs. I doubt Wlad was different in reality. Not a single ATG had PED controversies for obvious reasons.

Not sure about Bowe, but Holyfield’s big bulk up was monitored by a Mr Olympia bodybuilding champion of all people. Lewis certainly bulked too towards his peak. Wlad bulked out of the Olympics. I can’t imagine many heavyweights would contemplate trying to compete at the top level without PEDs.

Fury did look very underpowered in that fight despite the nice boxing. I would think that’s a negative tick against him actually being the GOAT.
