He's getting some real pelters from the comments section.

Although some of the comments are harsh, sadly I do agree with them.

Drug cheats usually protest their innocence and blame everyone and everything else, right up to their next door neighbour's budgerigar until it becomes unsustainable, then they admit their wrong-doing and claim it is because everyone else was doing it.

It's going to be a long road back for Benn.

Other than obviously strength and power, quite a big advantage of taking performance enhancers is recovery time is dramatically improved, so you can pack in that many more intense workouts each week and make rapid progress.

From memory, bar the 'explanation' he went very quiet, rather than Benn's ill-advised social rants about looking forward to all the apologies from the 'haters' etc. Just a complete lack of class and humility and instead doubling down on treating everyone like fools.
I think it's also the fact that there was so much collusion around the fight in terms of hiding the positive tests etc and the fact fans would have been left out of pocket in terms of having already committed to travel, hotels etc. Correct me if I'm wrong (genuinely can't remember the exact timing and circumstances), but don't think Fury's played out in the same way.

The first rematch was cancelled 2 weeks out and the second time they announced it it was cancelled 4 weeks out.

Around the time of the first cancellation it came out that Fury had tested positive for Nandrolone.

They still went ahead though and arranged the rematch for 4 months. That was then cancelled. It was cited that it was due to Fury’s health. A couple of weeks after that it came out that Fury had tested positive for Cocaine.

“After [Eubank’s] defeat, Conor would want to make it more difficult for himself even to get credit for that fight,” said Hearn about Benn likely wanting the fight with Eubank Jr to be at 160 rather than 157, which was the previous weight they were supposed to fight on October 8th before Conor failed a drug test.

Venue-wise, probably would sell out, as for PPV, I think that has lost a lot of the shine. The casual fans that pad out this sort of event are a fickle lot.
If Eubank won the rematch with Smith, that would help.
Problem with that, as far as I see it is Smith will be confident as heck coming back in the ring with Eubank. He took some of the best shots from Chris, and went on to stop him for the first time. So the psychological battle has already been won.

I agree pretty much but Misfits Boxing is selling out the 02 and getting plenty of PPV. Benn v Eubank an easy sell.
