He keeps his feet a million miles apart to generate that power and still manages to move them well and stay close. BUT I think when you have them that far apart it can let you come off balance when you get hit from the correct angle. I do think Bert has some very slight vulnerabilities but I don’t think Yarde is the guy to exploit them.Deserter wrote: ↑27 Jan 2023, 03:08I'm with you. I re-watched the Smith fight last night and while Yarde won't be as gung-ho as Smith, I was still struck by how good Berb's footwork is... those viewing him solely through the lens of a heavy-handed slugger are making a big mistake IMO.black panther wrote: ↑27 Jan 2023, 02:28 Beterbiev might have a 100% KO rate but it's his tremendous mastery of the boxing fundamentals that will enable him to take out Yarde.
I give Yarde six rounds until he's out of there.

Art Bert in 5.

Yeh, good post. On the assumption we're right and he disposes of Yarde I would LOVE to see Beterbiev vs Bivol. I'd actually favour Bivol on points in that one.Delta Jay wrote: ↑27 Jan 2023, 05:17He keeps his feet a million miles apart to generate that power and still manages to move them well and stay close. Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Anthony Yarde | BT Sport - 28 January 2023
Of course if you’re betting your house it’s gotta be Berb in about 7 ( bookies think that ) but as an outside bet Yarde is a good one: he’s certainly not gonna be overawed after that Russian job, a loss that’ll probably help him, he’s got bottle and he’s got fast hands. If he can avoid the heavy artillery long enough to land his own, it could get interesting. I just had a bet on Yarde KO at 6/1, to add to the drama

One sided shellacking.
Levels will be very evident here. Beterbiev has 18 pro fights and 18 straight ko`s. Only 5 defeats in 300 amateur fights.
Yarde has beaten Lyndon Arthur
He`ll get pasted in double quick time

Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Anthony Yarde | BT Sport - 28 January 2023
I just think Yarde has much faster hands and that will show on the inside. Yarde has showed a good chin, takes the sting out of shots defensively and I think it's a bad style for a tight at 175 Beterbiev at 38 years old. Not to say Beterbiev doesn't have a strong chance of course but Yarde is more mature now and has gone through the loss to Arthur in conjunction to the loss to Kovalev. I think Beterbiev is going to take the boxer style and Yarde is going to be pressing. Yarde has to avoid big shots and land his own but keep the pressure on, stand his ground and let his hands go and I really think he can hurt Beterbiev. The difference in hand speed is quite big and Yarde could just be the wrong style for Beterbiev at this point. Yarde has to come out and give him no respect. Bully him.Deserter wrote: ↑27 Jan 2023, 03:09Really, what makes you think that, esp given Berb seems very comfortable on the inside (witness the consecutive uppercuts he finished Smith with).TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑27 Jan 2023, 02:48 I'm picking Yarde. Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Anthony Yarde | BT Sport - 28 January 2023
Kovalev told RingIQ TV: “He’s very naturally strong and physically strong, and right now, he has a very big experience from amateur and more than ten fights in the pro and all fights finished by KO.
“Anthony Yarde in my opinion isn’t ready right now to fight Artur Beterbiev because he didn’t have a test like in real fights. When he fought me, I was drained of energy because I lost a lot of pounds for the light heavyweight division; I should have moved up to the next division because it’s not possible to make 175, and 2019 was for me the hardest year of my boxing career.
“My first fight was scheduled for June and then rescheduled for August. It was a very hard year for me. That was three and a half years ago, and he got more experience for this fight, more physically in conditioning.
“I think it’s going to be an interesting fight, but in my opinion, Artur will smash him. I was in trouble when I fought Anthony Yarde. I was in trouble in round number seven or eight because I was drained of my energy by losing weight.
“I lost more than 15 pounds for this fight. He couldn’t stop me. What I think so, Artur will finish him in the middle of the fight. It’s boxing.
“I’m interested in watching this too. In my opinion, Artur is naturally strong and mentally he has the background that is very, very big in two Olympic games, and world championship. He has big experience and mentally more older than Anthony Yarde.
“Not later than six. I think so, five, six. They’re both big, strong and smart.
“Therefore, it’s an interesting fight, but I think so, Beterbiev will smash him before the middle of the fight. Everything depends on setting it up.
“If Artur is rating him enough and will be ready for the fight, yeah, I think it’s going to be a win for Artur. Also, if Anthony is going to be ready for this fight but mentally, it’s the most important to be ready mentally. If he can be ready mentally, he can show his big heart, but we’ll see.”

Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Anthony Yarde | BT Sport - 28 January 2023
It does seem crazy to give someone who’s only had 11 amateur fights q chance against a generational talent like Beterbiev, I mean why don’t the bookies have it at 20/1 ? Tight bastards

Who was it Bivol fought over here? Am I right in thinking he was hurt?Deserter wrote: ↑27 Jan 2023, 05:39Yeh, good post. I think Bivol can Outland him and defend the bombs coming back over 12 for sure, but that’s a proper fight. Absolutely love to see it.

There are a few things I'd politely disagree with, but I honestly would be shocked if Yarde tries to bully him, don't think that will be his gameplan at all. If it is, think he'll just end up like Smith as seen nothing in his defensive make-up to suggest he'll be able to avoid walking onto something.

Bless him.Anthony Yarde: "When I Do Hurt Beterbiev, I’m Kinda Person Who’s Gonna Finish The Job"
“They’re different fighters, I believe,” Yarde told BT Sport’s Jo Ankier during an interview that aired on the British cable channel and on YouTube. “Kovalev was a lot more cautious. I don’t feel like Beterbiev, he’s as cautious. I feel like he’s very confident in his wrecking ability. And I feel like that’s why he’s been tagged a few times and been hurt. But I don’t think he has been hurt by me yet. So, when I do hurt him, I’m the kinda person who’s gonna finish the job.”
“There has been respect between me and Beterbiev, because I feel like we both know what each other’s capable of,” Yarde said. “That’s what makes this fight so exciting, the explosion.”

Surprises me 9 people have picked Yarde to win.
That's a lot more votes than i thought he would get.

This is the same Yarde who lost to a one handed Lyndon Arthur.
All the credit in the world if he manages to pull a win out of the bag but I just don't see it.
