I really want yarde vs buatsi this year, But that would kinda be lose and retire situation... stopping to think kinda feel like yarde has to completly reset, stay active and work through the levles.... What levle do you come back at for yarde after that?
My absolute ideal (unrealistic) senario would be...
July- Pitters (feels slightly too soon after that beating but thanks to the early stop and pitters been not scary i can back it)
Sept- Dan Azeez (good fight probably for the euro...)
december-craig richards (good euro first defence...)
march-callum smith (big domestic euro defence)
July 2024- Buatsi.... (hope buatsi has found a belt by then and make it for a world title)

Was bert going right overhand or right uppercut next?... its hard to say but uppercut was the shottt. had it been the uppercut yarde was about to be the victom of "KO of the year", because the way he was lent over with his lead hand just limply trying to block a right overhand the uppercut was gunna be clean... Good stoppage.

im not sure he's after attention, i get the sense that he really does believe a lot of the crap he says
and tbh............a lot of people tonight had yarde winning or said bert was in trouble, is it even that much of a leap to have smith beating bert if you thought he was so vulnerable tonight

Of course, I felt he won the round by scoring more effective clean punches - which in the first half of the fight he did. Probably I didn't clarify it more when I should have doneTeddy's Toupee wrote: ↑28 Jan 2023, 20:03You can't win a round by being "busier". You win a round by landing a higher number of effective punches on your opponent than they land on you. You could be "busier" by throwing twice as many punches in a round, but only landing half the amount of effective punches your opponent does. You would have been "busier" but you would lose the round.Fray Bentos wrote: ↑28 Jan 2023, 19:45Obviously for me, he did throw effective punches etc - yeah, seriously, a fighter can win a round on being 'busier' it will be interesting to see who landed more punches when the stats come out.Teddy's Toupee wrote: ↑28 Jan 2023, 19:36
You score a fight on who's landing the most effective punches, effective aggression, effective defence and ring generalship. I don't think "busy" is one of the criteria used.
If we take Hagler vs Leonard - that fight was scored on the amount of work Leonard did - especially to the end of every round despite Hagler landing the harder and better shots. A lot of people thought Hagler was robbed but the judges thought Leonard won that fight. Judging a fight is subjective.

bellew knows thats a bad take. he dosent even belive it. He has mastered the "shit take to stay relevent" approach... just Like skip baylas.
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Anthony Yarde - 28 January 2023
To be honest seeing the replay of it from that angle it kinda looks like Yarde gives his corner a look like "Help me" after that knockdown. They might've sensed that even though he wasn't going to verbally give up, he didn't want no more.

like i said......lots of people had yarde edging this or having bert in trouble. talk of him being hurt and flagging. if that's true how ridiculous is it to pick smith over bert? smith's a sharp puncher with power.
granted, easy within 6 obviously over the top

It is for me when Ryder arguably beat Smith , I would give him less a chance than Yarde.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑28 Jan 2023, 20:13 im not sure he's after attention, i get the sense that he really does believe a lot of the crap he says

i mean lyndon arthur beat yarde.......
yarde then, in the eyes of many, is right there with bert or even ahead of him. hurting him, having him flagging. i just dont see how so many can have that view, yet then think it's ridiculous to pick smith over bert

I think Steve Grays done ok there. I reckon i would've stopped it there on the count but it's a close call, he's given Yarde a chance to recover given it's a world to title fight. The way he points to the corner though.... perhaps he was a little too keen to pass the responsibility off to his corner.

For Bellew to believe that Smith would beat Beterbiev within 6 rounds, presumably means he believes Smith would go in there and start breaking Bert down from the off.
What is it about Callum’s style and past performances that leads him to believe such a thing? Bizarre.

He rocked him a few times and put up a great effort but got stopped.
Anyway He'll be retired by the Time Smith gets in position to take the fight .

fits mostly with what i saw. bert landing more in 5 of the 7 scored rounds, though fairly close numbers overall.
the jab was a great weapon for bert. busted yarde's eye up and was landing well, you could tell yarde was feeling it. yarde started to do some decent body work and i thought should've spent more time going in with that than standing off and jabbing
