12 or 15 Rounds Heavyweight Bout
Coetzer would out-box Weaver through the first half behind his left jabs and right hands to either take a decision or late round stoppage or Weaver would pull a rally in the later rounds by jabbing and wearing him down with body shots to either win by decision or knocking him out late with either a left hook or right hand.
Mike Weaver vs. Pierre Coetzer
Re: Mike Weaver vs. Pierre Coetzer
Coetzer would have a decent start, but eventually Weaver KOs him.
Re: Mike Weaver vs. Pierre Coetzer
Coetzer was a brave as feck.....and maybe more rugged than Coetzee, Sanders and Botha.
Probably fair to say that Du Plooy - who could properly crack - was a bit better/dangerous at this level than Pierre.
He'd come at you all night long and be ready for a fight the next morning too.
But Pierre lacked enough bite on his punches, any kind of variety and was a bit one-paced and predictable.
Weaver was not exactly a dancer himself or hard to suss-out....but I see this being a 12 UD for the American.

Re: Mike Weaver vs. Pierre Coetzer
Weaver wins this one. Particularly if we're talking about a prime Weaver. Mostly like it goes the distance.
