Felix Trinidad @ 147

So if Trinidad never moved up to 154-160 and stayed @ welterweight, would he have eventually retired undefeated? If not, who could have defeated him then? Thank you in advance and be safe.

I don't think so.

First of all, he was awarded a win over De La Hoya, which he didn't deserve clearly. There could be a rematch, which could very likely be another Oscar win, that time scored fairly.

Secondly, Shane Mosley was in a quite monstrous shape, when he entered the division. Mosley of the ODLH bout could at least give a tough fight to Trinidad, probably he should have even be favored in the retrospective view.

In third, Vernon Forrest wasn't an easy task either.

All in all, Trinidad would have a lot of extreme challenges. Most likely he wouldn't handle all of them.

I'd imagine if he'd decided to stick at 147 he would've started having an increasingly hard time making the weight, and may have eventually lost his title just due to being weight drained, and not able to perform at his best.

But yeah, I think DLH in a rematch. Mosley upon his arrival at 147 or Vernon Forrest all names that would've very likely come along and dethroned him in the not too distant future following the 1st DLH fight.

He couldn't make weight anymore. He had a terrible time making it against Whitaker, but stuck around for the De La Hoya mega payday. If he would have stayed at 154, I think he would likely have retired unbeaten because that weight was perfect for him and he no longer had to drain himself plus he'd got his first mega fight (and the nerves etc; that come with it) out the way.
