Okolie has left McGuigan?
Yep.
Based in Dubai. Sparring at the moment in the US. He alluded to essentially training himself from now on but Shalom seemed to think he may be linking up with Sugar Hill.
Sounds like he's a bit lost. Light might be a worth of a wager.
I wouldn’t personally.
I fully imagine Okolie is based in Dubai for a very good reason. Superb strength and conditioning and all that.
light is a solid lower top 20 guy, a hard worker in the ring, but he's way too hittable and without a reedeming ko blast or anything in particular to overcome that. oko should do a number on him and look good doing it
after opotai won his titles i expected him to defend first against light

You also can't ignore the fact basing himself there means he won't have to give a big percentage of his purse to the taxman. Clearly a factor.

This is such a weak first fight on sky. but i guess testing the waters with something weak probably has some apeal, mando done and not even worth eds time trying to sue about (if he thinks its a breach of contract)....
Can not belive Okolie hasnt unified yet honestly. There are 2 weak champs just sitting there waiting to be taken. and jai should be back fighting soon once his jaw is good.

He lives there. He’s given up his British passport.

I think that’s very unlikely Mickey. You don’t need to give up your passport to live there and it’s virtually impossible to get an Emirati passport.
It’s possible he’s got a Nigerian passport though his parents, but I haven’t seen anything about that.

Given up residency? One or the other, according to Shane McGuigan or Billam Smith or someone.

I’d be amazed if he gave up his British passport. I’d imagine he’s basing himself there as he’s likely got a good way of life and won’t be paying much in the way of tax there or in the U.K. due to how little time he’ll actually be spending in the U.K.

My mate lives there. Easy to get apartments, naff all tax, hot all year round, full of Brits... don’t think there’s anything dodgy behind Okolie moving out there.

I believe this is a mandatory
It is. But at this point he really should be unifying or moving up.
At least trying to dodge this type of poor mandatory… waste of time.
