He won't sell a bean outside the UK , and in the UK he's become unmarketable unless people want to see him on his backside in a fight
His dad did alright in the states.
He's not his dad though

I know he's not, but his dad was completely unknown in the states when he went there.

What's Thomas Hearns doing these days?

Then again, Tommy would probably still poleaxe the Clomiphene Kid, even at 64 years old!

Why do they keep mentioning Manny's name alongside Crawford and Spence?

Just ludicrous.

No but I think it’s sort of general insider knowledge that he took off to his home country to do his PED cycles as a big part of his build up to fights.

Ben Shalom on Conor Benn: “I Don’t Know What the WBC Have To Do With Whether He’s Fighting Or Not”

“I don’t know what the WBC have to do with whether he’s fighting or not,” Shalom told iFL TV. “They’re not an authority or commissioning body or anything so I’m not really sure.

“I’ve got no agenda in this anymore. I don’t care. I really don’t care. Other than there’s no sport where there should be no more of a zero tolerance than boxing to failed drug tests. And until it’s clear that he didn’t fail a drug test or that whatever happened happened, which is looking hard to prove, then what are we even talking about? I think all this is is that you can’t stop me from getting in the ring in any country in the world, whatever. That’s all this is.”

“The WBC have nothing to do with it,” Shalom said of Benn's status. “I think that it’s a danger to the name of the sport. I think you see that with the reaction. Again, I don’t have any agenda. I just think, what, how can that happen? And why would anyone involved or cares about the sport be pushing it to happen until the governing body of where the crime happened or where the incident happened for a fight in this country has given you the clear.

"They’re the authority, the British Boxing Board of Control. There’s no point in blaming them or pushing it on them and saying it’s them and this and that. It is what it is. I just don’t understand why anyone in the sport is going against that, just to make a few quid. Again I don’t have any agenda.”

“I’ve got nothing against Conor Benn at all, but just do it the normal route and make sure we follow guidelines so that the sport is not brought into disrepute, because what’s going to happen in three months if he’s fighting?" Shalom said. "Do you not think anyone is going to look at boxing and think what’s going on there? Everybody’s going to have to ask questions. …Maybe it’s what’s needed so we can completely rip up the rulebook and find a different way of regulating this sport because this obviously isn’t working.”

Positive drug tests can be innocent.

This poor man got a 1,000 Euro fine for cross-contamination from a possible pat or a lick.

Irish trainer Gordon Elliott has been fined £1,000 over a positive drugs test for one of his horses at last year's Cheltenham Festival.

Zanahiyr, who was third to Honeysuckle in the Champion Hurdle, has been disqualified.

The horse tested positive post-race for 3-hydroxylidocaine, a metabolite of lidocaine, used in racing stables as a local anaesthetic.

A disciplinary panel heard it may have been caused by cross-contamination.

The source of the substance, which is banned on raceday, had not been found at Elliott's yard, among his staff or in his horse feed.

Elliott faced an independent panel after being referred by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), whose lawyer Charlotte Davison called it "a mystery case".

Rory MacNiece, representing Elliott, said the substance was most likely to have been ingested during the four days the horse spent at the racecourse stables after travelling over from Ireland.

"I accept that responsibility lies with Mr Elliott, I don't accept that includes posting a guard beside his horses 24 hours a day to stop someone giving it a pat or letting them lick their hand," he said.

Saint Roi, who originally finished fourth in the race for trainer Willie Mullins, will be promoted to third.

Elliott missed the 2021 Cheltenham Festival as he served a 12-month ban, with the last six months suspended. He was found guilty of bringing the sport into disrepute after being pictured sitting on a dead horse.

He was fined 1,000 euros by Irish racing officials in 2018 after a post-race sample on his horse Timiyan was found to contain the anti-inflammatory medication triamcinolone acetonide, which had not cleared his system by raceday.

Eddie Hearn came out yesterday and said people will be having 'sleepless nights' over the information in Conor's report. So much deflection it's almost easy to forget Benn was the one who failed two tests.
